Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Hobbs of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hobbs.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path to becoming the owner of Rhinestone Wedding Chapel wasn’t a straight line—it was built through decades of entrepreneurship, reinvention, and a willingness to follow opportunities that felt meaningful.

Before purchasing the chapel, I had spent years helping run multiple multi-million-dollar businesses. Building, growing, and managing businesses was never new to me. What was new was taking all of those skills and pouring them into something that was truly my own.

When I purchased Rhinestone Wedding Chapel, I saw more than a wedding chapel. I saw the potential to create a destination where people could celebrate some of life’s most important relationships. Over the years, I have transformed the property from a single chapel into a mini wedding venue featuring two chapels, beautiful outdoor spaces, and an intimate reception area. Today, couples can host everything from a simple elopement to a complete wedding celebration in one location.

The evolution of the property has been a labor of pure love. Every improvement, every new offering, and every expansion has been guided by one simple question: “How can we create a more meaningful experience for our guests?”

One of the most exciting additions came from a conversation with my best friend, Jackie. As we talked about the role female friendships have played throughout our lives, we realized there was no meaningful ceremony dedicated to honoring a lifelong best friend. Weddings celebrate romantic love. Vow renewals celebrate enduring marriage. But there was nothing that celebrated the women who stand beside us through life’s biggest joys, challenges, and milestones.

From that conversation, Bestiemony® was born.

We are proud to be the first to introduce the Bestiemony® friendship ceremony. We knew immediately that we had tapped into something special because almost as soon as we introduced it, others began creating their own versions. Rather than being frustrated, we were thrilled. It confirmed what we already believed: people are hungry for ways to celebrate friendship in a meaningful and intentional way.

At its heart, Bestiemony® recognizes that friendship is its own kind of love story. It may not be romantic, but it is often one of the longest and most influential relationships in a person’s life. Best friends witness our triumphs, help us survive our heartbreaks, and often know us better than anyone else. We believe those relationships deserve to be celebrated, honored, and recognized.

Today, Rhinestone Wedding Chapel is proud to be the longest-running wedding chapel in the City of Nashville. We welcome couples from around the world for weddings, vow renewals, elopements, and friendship ceremonies. Whether someone is celebrating romantic love or the bond of a lifelong best friend, my goal remains the same: to create meaningful moments and lasting memories.

Looking back, what I’m most proud of isn’t simply building a business. It’s creating a place where people can celebrate the relationships that matter most. That’s what continues to inspire me every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. Like most entrepreneurial journeys, there have been plenty of challenges along the way.

One of the biggest misconceptions people have about owning a wedding venue is that it’s all celebrations and happy moments. While that’s certainly the rewarding part, behind the scenes you’re running a business that depends on marketing, customer service, operations, staffing, maintenance, and adapting to constant changes in consumer behavior.

When I purchased Rhinestone Wedding Chapel, I inherited a business with a history and reputation, but I also inherited the responsibility of keeping it relevant in a rapidly changing marketplace. Consumer expectations evolve, technology evolves, and the way people find businesses has changed dramatically. Today, business owners aren’t just competing with other businesses; we’re competing for attention in an increasingly crowded digital world.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning to navigate those changes while staying true to what makes us unique. The wedding industry has become more competitive, marketing channels are constantly shifting, and small businesses have had to adapt to everything from economic uncertainty to changing search algorithms and AI-driven search results.

Another challenge has been growth itself. Every time I’ve expanded the property, added a new service, or introduced a new concept, there has been risk involved. You never know for certain how people will respond. Bestiemony® is a perfect example. It was a completely new idea. There was no roadmap, no market data, and no proof it would work. It was simply a belief that friendship deserved to be celebrated in a meaningful way. Putting a new concept out into the world requires a willingness to be vulnerable and trust your instincts.

That said, I’ve always believed challenges are where innovation lives. Many of the things that make Rhinestone Wedding Chapel special today were born from asking, “How can we do this better?” The second chapel, the reception space, the expanded guest experiences, and even Bestiemony® all came from looking at obstacles as opportunities.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that success isn’t about having a smooth road. It’s about continuing to move forward when the road gets bumpy. Every challenge has taught me something valuable, and every obstacle has helped shape both the business and the person I’ve become.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
This question makes me smile because if you had asked me 20 years ago whether I was creative, I would have laughed.

My professional background was built around business, operations, accounting, and helping manage multiple multi-million-dollar companies. I spent years working in a world of numbers, systems, and processes. Everything was very black and white. I was known for being analytical, organized, and focused on growing businesses.

What I didn’t realize was that I had a creative side waiting to be discovered.

When I purchased Rhinestone Wedding Chapel, I began transforming the property into something much more than a traditional wedding chapel. Over the years, I have reimagined the space into a mini wedding venue with two chapels, a reception space, outdoor gathering areas, and unique experiences designed to help people celebrate the relationships that matter most.

Through that process, I discovered a love for creating environments, experiences, and ideas that evoke emotion. I became fascinated with how a space feels, how people experience it, and how thoughtful design can turn a simple moment into a lasting memory.

The most rewarding part has been seeing people respond to those creative efforts. There is something incredibly fulfilling about envisioning a project, bringing it to life, and then hearing guests tell you how beautiful, welcoming, or meaningful it feels. Those moments gave me the confidence to continue developing my creative instincts.

What sets me apart is that I approach creativity through the lens of both an entrepreneur and a storyteller. I don’t just create beautiful spaces—I create experiences and concepts that connect with people emotionally. Whether it’s transforming a venue, creating a new ceremony category, or helping someone celebrate a milestone, my focus is always on creating something meaningful.

What am I most proud of? Honestly, it’s discovering that creativity wasn’t something reserved for artists or designers. It was something that had been inside me all along. Finding that part of myself later in life has been one of the most unexpected and rewarding chapters of my career, and it continues to inspire everything I do today.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the wedding industry is already in the middle of a major shift, and over the next 5–10 years we’ll see that trend continue.

For decades, the traditional expectation was that bigger was better—larger guest lists, larger budgets, and more elaborate celebrations. What I’m seeing today is something very different. Couples are becoming much more intentional about how they spend their money and how they want to experience one of the most important days of their lives.

I believe we’ll continue to see a move toward smaller, more meaningful celebrations. Couples are increasingly choosing quality over quantity, focusing less on impressing hundreds of guests and more on creating an experience they genuinely enjoy with the people closest to them.

The younger generations, in particular, seem to value authenticity and simplicity. They are less interested in following traditions simply because “that’s how it’s always been done” and more interested in creating a wedding that reflects who they are. They want less stress, fewer obligations, and more meaningful moments.

We’re already seeing this happen through the growth of elopements, intimate ceremonies, micro weddings, and small receptions. What was once considered an alternative option is quickly becoming a preferred choice for many couples.

I believe micro weddings will become the new normal rather than the exception. Couples will continue looking for venues and experiences that offer flexibility, personalization, and a stress-free environment. They’ll invest in creating memories rather than managing massive events.

From a business perspective, that’s exciting. It allows wedding professionals to focus more on the couple’s experience and less on logistics. At its core, a wedding is about celebrating a relationship, and I think the future of the industry will bring us back to that simple and meaningful purpose.
