Life & Work with Abby Biberstein of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby Biberstein.

Hi Abby, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Photography has always held a special place in my heart. My journey began when I was a little with a green digital camera, spending my days taking photos of my dogs, flowers, and anything else that caught my eye. As I got older, that passion continued to grow, leading me to join the yearbook staff throughout high school, where I fell even more in love with storytelling through images.

After graduating high school and starting college, I took a brief step away from photography. During my sophomore year of college, I realized something was missing. I found myself longing for the creativity and joy that photography had always brought into my life. So, I picked up my camera again and haven’t put it down.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Photography hasn’t always been a smooth road for me. Like many creatives, I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome and spent a lot of time comparing my work to photographers whose art I admire. It can be easy to look at the incredible talent in this industry and wonder if you’re doing enough or creating enough.

Over time, I’ve learned that comparison can steal the joy from creativity. One of the biggest lessons photography has taught me is that every artist sees the world through a different lens. I’ve come to believe that if God placed this passion on my heart, then it has value.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a photographer based in Nashville, Tennessee, specializing in weddings, couples, and portrait photography. At my core, I’m passionate about documenting people and the moments that matter most to them—whether that’s a wedding day, an engagement, a growing family, or simply a season of life worth remembering.

While couples are my primary focus, I truly love capturing all of life’s moments. Recently, I’ve been pushing myself creatively by stepping outside my comfort zone and photographing concerts. It’s been an exciting way to challenge my skills, embrace a different pace, and continue growing as an artist.

My goal isn’t just to deliver beautiful images—it’s to preserve memories and emotions in a way that allows people to relive them for years to come.

How do you think about luck?
Looking back on my life and business, I see God’s provision, guidance, and timing far more than I see luck. I’ve learned to trust that God was still working, even when I couldn’t see the bigger picture.

As a business owner and creative, I’ve come to believe that my role is to work hard, serve people well, and be faithful with the gifts I’ve been given. The opportunities, relationships, and growth that have followed are not things I attribute to luck, but to God’s faithfulness throughout the journey.
