Today we’d like to introduce you to Landen Nichols.
Hi Landen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I wasn’t always a photographer and a videographer. At one time, I was a producer making music in the secular industry. One day, I stopped making beats. I started off filming sports, and then I eventually transitioned to Start becoming a content creator. I focused on content that would benefit people in their personal lives, I eventually started filming music videos, commercials, and wedding content. More recently I lost one of my best friends and I found that there was more purpose in filming video than I had thought, and I’ve spent more time working with Christian artist Joston Cooper. My life has changed a lot from the start of this journey to now and I’m excited to see whats next!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, because the road to greatness is rarely the easy one it’s often the harder path to travel.
One thing I wrestled with in the beginning was my faith in Jesus. Many people struggle with spirituality, but for me, it came down to whether I was truly going to trust Him. I was also struggling with my career. I hadn’t gone to school yet, and I was searching for a place where I belonged. Eventually, I met my best friend, Landon Yeats, and that started a journey in my videography career. One day, my other best friend friend Alex invited me to a car meet. I went that morning, and later that evening we gathered in an empty parking lot. That’s where I met Landon. From the moment we met, we just clicked, and from that day on we shared a brotherhood. As time went on, I grew in my videography, and I also grew in my faith. But one day, Landon passed away. Since that day, I made a decision to pursue videography differently. I realized I had been filming for my own recognition and personal value, but God gave me a greater purpose. Now, I film to bring Him glory.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now, I work full-time at Hitachi energy, but I specialize primarily in videography I’m more known for my color grade. I have a very light cinematic color to everything that I filmed for the most part. I most proud of my workflow. I have increased in speed and gotten a lot better at. Developing more of the things I think sets me apart from others as my character. I have pretty good character. I make sure that I do things right and I put my all into the things that I work on another thing that says me apart is my style. I just have a different way of looking into the lens and is encouraging when others share with me that the content that I create really helps them in life.
What are your plans for the future?
One of my plans for the future is to start developing playlist with beats that I used to make because that one time I was a producer one of the biggest changes that I’m looking at is getting married and being able to film videos while on tour getting tour opportunities is probably one of the most exciting things. I’ve also been filming concerts more recently and that’s something that requires a different kind of skill so it’s really been challenging me but I enjoy it because it helps me develop better Content.
