Daily Inspiration: Meet David Keary

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Keary.

David, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2012 myself & former NBA 1st round pick Dontae’ Jones seen a need in the Nashville area for a basketball program that focused on mentorship & development. We started doing weekly clinics & then ventured in to our first winter league Dec. of 2012. The league quickly grew & expanded to multi seasonal leagues. Many of the players we had been working with were excelling & doing well, so we started getting some of our high level players into out of town tournaments & they did well. Our program grew to a national level working with top recruiters, coaches, & players from all over including California, Canada, Florida, & many other states. Today we service nearly 2000 youth yearly through our year round programming.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not completely smooth. The biggest challenge has been securing consistent gym space. & the lack of any public funding

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I graduated from TN TECH with a masters degree in Professional Studies with a focus on Organizational Leadership. Our genuine care for the youth & their betterment is always our focus & has allowed us to be a pillar in the middle Tennessee community for 14 years, which we feel is a great accomplishment.

What does success mean to you?
Being happy with yourself & in a position to help others
