Hidden Gems: Meet Andrea Harbison of Catch Salon and Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Harbison.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my career in the beauty industry with a passion for helping people feel confident and creating a space where artistry, education, and client experience all came together. In 2011, I opened my first small studio salon, and from the beginning I focused heavily on advanced color work, blonding, and hair extensions. As my clientele and reputation grew, I expanded into a larger space in 2013 and rebranded under my own name, building a brand centered around customized luxury hair services and education.

Over the years, I became a national educator for professional color companies, continued advanced training, and worked with a wide range of clients, including opportunities in television and editorial beauty. I’ve always believed that staying ahead of trends and continuing education is one of the most important parts of this industry.

In 2021, I purchased property in Spring Hill, Tennessee and rebranded the business into what is now Catch Salon & Spa. What started as a salon evolved into a full beauty and wellness destination offering hair, skin, med spa, laser, and body contouring services all under one roof. Since then, we’ve continued expanding — adding advanced aesthetic treatments, growing our team.

Throughout the journey, entrepreneurship has come with a lot of challenges, risk, and reinvention, but I’ve always been driven by growth, creativity, and building something long-term. Today, I’m proud that Catch has become known not only for high-end beauty services, but also for creating an experience where clients feel cared for, educated, and confident walking out the door.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, especially in the beauty and wellness industry, there have been a lot of challenges, risks, and moments where I had to completely reinvent parts of the business.

One of the biggest challenges was learning how to grow from being just a service provider into becoming a true business owner and leader. In the beginning, I wore every hat — stylist, receptionist, marketing manager, social media manager, educator, inventory buyer, and customer service. As the business grew, I had to learn how to build systems, lead a team, manage finances, and scale sustainably while still maintaining the quality and client experience that built the brand in the first place.

Another challenge has been navigating growth during changing economic climates and industry shifts. The beauty industry evolves constantly, and over the years I’ve had to adapt to social media changes, marketing trends, rising operational costs, staffing challenges, and consumer behavior shifts. Expanding from a salon into a full salon and spa with advanced aesthetic services also came with a huge learning curve and financial investment.

There were definitely moments of stress, setbacks, and difficult decisions, but I think those experiences ultimately helped shape the business into what it is today. I’ve learned the importance of resilience, continuing education, reinvesting into the business, and staying adaptable. Even through challenges, I’ve always stayed focused on creating a space where clients feel confident and cared for, while also building opportunities for others in the beauty industry to grow alongside me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Catch Salon & Spa is a luxury beauty and wellness destination based in Spring Hill, Tennessee that combines advanced hair services, aesthetics, med spa treatments, and body wellness services all under one roof. What started as a boutique hair studio has evolved into a multi-service experience focused on confidence, education, personalization, and results.

We specialize in luxury hair color, blonding, color correction, and custom hair extensions, which is where much of our reputation was originally built. I’ve spent years focusing on advanced color techniques and extension customization, and one thing that sets us apart is that we offer multiple extension methods while also carrying our own high-quality hair line. We focus heavily on customization, color matching, and creating natural-looking results tailored specifically to each client.

As the business evolved, we expanded into advanced skin and wellness services including facials, laser treatments, RF microneedling, body contouring, skin tightening, and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Our goal has always been to create a place where clients can come for both beauty and confidence-building services in a luxury but welcoming environment.

I think what truly sets our brand apart is the combination of high-end services with a very personalized experience. We focus heavily on continuing education, staying current with technology and trends, and making sure clients understand their treatment plans and expectations. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — every service is customized to the individual.

Brand wise, I’m most proud that Catch has become something much bigger than just a salon. It has become a space centered around growth, creativity, confidence, and opportunity. We’ve built a brand that blends artistry with innovation while still maintaining a very personal, client-focused atmosphere. I’m also incredibly proud of the team and environment we’ve created because we’ve worked hard to build a culture that supports both clients and beauty professionals.

What I want readers to know most is that our brand was built from passion, consistency, and years of reinvestment into education, experience, and client care. Whether someone comes in for hair extensions, a skin treatment, or a wellness service, our goal is always to help them leave feeling more confident than when they walked in.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people leave feeling more confident than when they walked in. Whether it’s a hair transformation, helping someone feel comfortable in their skin again, or creating an environment where clients can relax and feel cared for, that confidence boost is what has always driven me.

I also genuinely enjoy building and creating. Watching something grow from a small studio into a full salon and spa has been incredibly rewarding. I love the creative side of the beauty industry, but I also love the entrepreneurial side — building a brand, developing new ideas, mentoring others, and constantly evolving both personally and professionally.

Another thing that makes me happy is continuing to learn. The beauty and wellness industry changes constantly, and I’ve always been passionate about education, staying current on trends, and improving my craft. I think growth keeps things exciting and pushes you to become better.

Most of all, I’m happiest when I can create opportunities for others — whether that’s helping clients feel their best, supporting my team, or building a business that gives other beauty professionals a place to grow their own careers and confidence.
