Life & Work with Jaclyn Kenyon of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Kenyon.

Hi Jaclyn , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Jaclyn Kenyon is a powerhouse Canadian rock artist
defined by a commanding vocal presence and
unflinching emotional honesty. A Burlington native,
Kenyon made history at age 12 as the youngest
performer at Toronto’s Honey Jamshowcase. Since then,
she has spent years refining her sound between Nashville
and L.A., collaborating with members of legendary bands
like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, and The Eagles.
A world-class performer trained by coach Tom Jackson,
Kenyon has shared stages with Nickelback and Don
McLean. In 2024, she gained international acclaim as the
winner of the U.S. series Banded. Following a mandatory
two-year hiatus that sparked a period of deep creative
recalibration, she has returned with her most vulnerable
work yet. Her latest single,
“Scars,
” currently on SiriusXM,
blends modern rock production with raw storytelling.
Kenyon is a high-caliber professional delivering stadium-
ready energy built on hard-won perspective

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a rollercoaster. Honestly, I’ve just learnt that I have to enjoy it because it really is all about riding the highs and the lows. There are days where I feel like I am living the dream and everything is lining up perfectly and then there are days where it’s a stand still and nothing is happening and it’s very upsetting and doors are closing left right and center. I just have learnt to do this because I love it and my love for it truly triumphs all of the bad because I just want to get to the moment again where I am living my dream

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional singer and songwriter.

I am most proud of my resilience in this industry, so many times I could have been knocked down from closed doors and almost quit but I just kept going and not letting anything hold me back from doing what I love most and I’m most proud of that, that feels like sucess to me when you trust God to bring the right opportunities and trust his plan more than your let downs.

I think what sets me apart is my ability to not settle and to keep going no matter what

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To enjoy it. To be so thankful anytime I get a write, to perform, meet someone in the industry. It’s a privilege to be able to even call myself a professional at what I love doing and I just have been trying to enjoy the opportunities I get infront of me more instead of trying to chase the manager or the label that’s going to change my life because it’s truly not about that and I used to chase that all the time but it’s about enjoying the journey and the people you get to meet along the way and the things you get to experience just because you sing and it’s really the coolest job in the world and leads you to opportunities and experiences that people would only dream to have and I’m grateful for that.
