Life & Work with Aletha Golden of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aletha Golden.

Hi Aletha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Aletha (Moore) and Brian Golden met in May of 2016 and were engaged to be married in December of that year, marrying in May of 2017. Both grew up in musical households and within the year had formed the Brian Golden Blues Experiment, releasing ‘binomial’ (EP) in 2017 and ‘The High Divided” (LP) in 2020. In 2024, the Goldens rebranded as Golden Soul Revue, releasing their debut single, “Got No Time,” in May of that year, followed by the self-titled ‘Golden Soul Revue’ EP, released in November of 2025.
In 2018, after hosting and catering several events for close friends and family, Aletha Golden established Golden Weddings & Events LLC, growing the fledgling company from a part-time enterprise to a full-service, one-stop shop for brides and clients. From planning/coordinating, florals, catering, bartending, decor rentals, DJ services, live entertainment and even dress alterations (thanks to her mom Alfreda and Alfreda’s Alterations) – Aletha’s goal has remained the same, to “always go above and beyond” to provide the very best experience when it comes to any gathering, be it a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding, birthday or anniversary, or an annual corporate party or family get together.
“This is what we’ve always strived for and that’s how I was able to turn my passion for blessing others into a successful business,” said Golden. “This and music have been my life’s pursuit and I am so proud of the teams and bands we’ve put together over the past ten years. Every opportunity to present our best, whether it’s the wedding business or Golden Soul Revue, provides its own challenges, and we love that. That’s why we continue to succeed and grow. And that’s a blessing in and of itself.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
– In March of 2020, just days after releasing their second album, “The High Divided,” the Goldens were forced to cancel an already booked tour of the northeast due to the Covid pandemic. The subsequent shutdown curtailed live performance and ultimately led to the dissolution of the Brian Golden Blues Experiment and formation of Golden Soul Revue.
– We faced the typical growing pains associated with the starting of any new business (or band, for that matter!), with changes to staff and navigating a challenging economy leading the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
– From acoustic duo and trio to full band, the Goldens and Golden Soul Revue are known for their unique blend of Blues and Gospel, Roots Rock and Americana Soul. With a focus on songwriting, strong harmonies and tight arrangements (with space reserved for inspired improvisation), Golden Soul Revue “encompasses [Golden’s] interest in blues, but also makes room for Aletha Golden’s powerful voice on soul/R&B/gospel-tinged songs …” (Brian Cornish, NYS Music).
– Nominated for Best Americana, 2026 Syracuse Area Music Awards.
– We take a lot of pride in the “real-ness” and honesty of our music. There are no gimmicks. No click track, no computers, no AI and nothing fake. It’s a grassroots, homegrown band and that’s the way we like it. You will not find Golden Soul Revue on Spotify or other streaming services, we push everything through our website, as it should be. Why are people paying a middle man instead of supporting local, regional and national talent on every level? As far as Golden Weddings & Events goes we take great pride in that our catered food is prepared with the freshest ingredients, time honored family recipes and it’s presented and displayed with elevated but relaxed southern charm. Aletha has always lived by the mantra that “People eat with their eyes first!” If the buffet looks beautiful people will dive right in. We’ve also been able to create some stunning floral designs and we take great pride in supporting local Nashville area wholesale florists in doing so. Our business is lucky to be in an area with such a wide variety of florals to choose from.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
– Both Goldens are big fans of “The Big Bang Theory.”
– Brian is a huge Star Wars and comic book nut, as well as JRR Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” and the fantasy and sci-fi genres.
– Aletha grew up signing in the church and continues to draw inspiration from the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. She also enjoys listening to Michelle Obama’s podcast and The Necessary Conversation podcast.
