Meet Ashley Argo of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Argo.

Ashley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For me this is a profession of passion that began many years ago in my grandmother’s backyard salon. It was built by my grandfather and is where I was first exposed to the community within the beauty industry. Unfortunately, we lost my grandmother to cancer years ago, but her life and legacy inspire me still today.

Since childhood, it has been my dream to have my own salon where I could cultivate the culture I began to admire so long ago while prioritizing what matters most to me both as a professional and an individual. A place where authentic connections can be formed and space held to allow every individual to embrace their truest self. A dream that was realized through years of hard work and commitment to my craft at the start of 2026 when I opened The Artisan Hair Studio.

By definition, an Artisan is a skilled craft worker that is known for their specialized skills, attention to detail and focus on producing high-quality and unique goods. It is my belief every person is a work of art, and their hair should be too. At The Artisan Hair studio, every look is crafted by an artist, for a result that embraces the most authentic version of each individual.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In life I have learned few things worth having are ever easy, but the effort is almost always worth the reward. My career has challenged me to grow both personally and professionally to meet my clients at the highest standard of my abilities.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a hairstylist who specializes in weft & k-tip extensions, non-toxic, high impact and dimensional blonding, custom color, and specialty cuts to embrace each client’s natural texture and lifestyle.

I take great pride in my work, but I am most proud to say I utilize some of the cleanest hair lighteners and color in the world. Like my grandmother, many stylists find themselves sick from years of chemical exposure. I am committed to a healthier industry for myself and my clients, therefore all the products I use are free from ammonia, PPD, and resorcinol while still producing results that shine and withstand the test of time.

As an extension artist, I hold a master’s certificate in technique from Invisible Bead Extensions®. I invested a full year of my time fine tuning my technique through this program, as well as many other avenues of advanced education, but what sets me apart in my industry is not something that can be taught. Rather, an innate passion and commitment to myself and my clients to show up and show out.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I am grateful to call Middle Tennessee my lifelong home. Nashville is a creative city at its heart. I deeply admire the space it holds for artists and entrepreneurs alike to thrive. I am endlessly inspired by the talent and grit of the folks who live here. My only complaint is the traffic, but I am proud to say my studio offers free, abundant parking!
