Hi Melina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been aware of spiritual experiences for as long as I can remember. As a child, I often sensed things before they happened, picked up on emotions that weren’t my own, and experienced what I would later come to understand as intuition and psychic awareness. At the time, I didn’t have the language for it—I simply knew that I experienced the world a little differently than many people around me.
By the age of 15, I had become deeply fascinated with the mystical and spiritual world. What started as curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion and calling. I immersed myself in studying divination, spiritual traditions, folklore, energy work, and magical practices, determined to better understand the experiences I had been having since childhood. Over the next 25 years, I dedicated myself to learning, developing my abilities, and deepening my understanding of both the spiritual world and the human experience.
About eight years ago, I decided to begin offering my services professionally. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients from all walks of life through tarot and card readings, spiritual consultations, magical workings, house clearings, and distance Reiki. While my practice has evolved over the years, my mission has remained the same: helping people find clarity, healing, empowerment, and direction during life’s most challenging moments.
I believe spiritual guidance should empower people rather than create fear or dependency. Whether someone is seeking answers, validation, healing, or simply a new perspective, my goal is to provide honest insight while encouraging them to trust their own intuition and inner wisdom.
What began as a childhood gift and a teenager’s fascination with the unseen has grown into a career that I genuinely love. More than 25 years after beginning my studies and eight years after stepping into professional practice, I still feel honored every time someone trusts me to walk alongside them on a part of their journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced wasn’t learning the craft itself—it was learning to be comfortable sharing it with the world.
I grew up in a small Southern town with strong religious influences, and while I moved away when I was 18, those early experiences stayed with me for a long time. I spent years keeping parts of my spiritual life private because I worried about how others might react or what they might think. Many people in spiritual professions understand what it means to be “in the broom closet,” and for a long time that felt like the safest place to be.
As my confidence grew and my experience deepened, I realized that hiding who I was wasn’t serving anyone—not myself and certainly not the people I was meant to help. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that authenticity is far more valuable than approval. The people who resonate with my work will find me, and those who don’t are simply not my audience.
Building a business in a field that is often misunderstood comes with its own challenges. There will always be skeptics, misconceptions, and judgments. However, those experiences have helped me develop a thicker skin and a stronger sense of self. Today, I am much more comfortable being fully open about who I am, what I do, and the path I’ve chosen.
Looking back, I’m actually grateful for those obstacles because they taught me confidence, resilience, and the importance of standing firmly in my truth. The older I’ve gotten, the less concerned I’ve become with fitting into other people’s expectations and the more committed I’ve become to living authentically. That freedom has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a psychic medium, intuitive tarot reader, certified Hoodoo Rootworker, Reiki practitioner, and metaphysical content creator. In addition to readings, I offer distance Reiki, house clearings, magical consultations, and spiritual workings commissioned by clients seeking support in specific areas of their lives.
While I work with a variety of concerns, I would say I specialize primarily in love, relationships, and prosperity work, as those make up the majority of the requests I receive. People often come to me during pivotal moments in their lives when they are seeking clarity, healing, direction, or a deeper understanding of their circumstances.
What I am most known for is my compassion. Life has given me a great deal of personal experience, and I believe that allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level. My ability to empathize, combined with my sensitivity to energy, helps me provide guidance that feels both intuitive and grounded. Many of my clients tell me that speaking with me feels less like talking to a psychic and more like talking to a trusted friend who genuinely cares about their well-being.
One of the things I am most proud of is having built a successful professional practice over the last eight years doing work that I truly love. I am also incredibly proud to be a member of the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers (AIRR) and to have earned my certification through the Lucky Mojo Curio Company under the guidance of renowned rootworker and author Cat Yronwode. Those accomplishments represent years of study, dedication, and commitment to ethical spiritual practice.
What sets me apart is my approach to client care. I don’t see people as transactions or appointments on a calendar. I see them as individuals who are often navigating some of the most important and vulnerable moments of their lives. My goal is not only to provide insight but also to create a space where people feel seen, understood, and empowered. That combination of intuition, experience, and genuine compassion is why many of my clients refer to me as their “psychic friend” rather than simply their psychic reader, and honestly, that’s one of the greatest compliments I could receive.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would tell anyone who is just starting out not to be intimidated. Whether you’re learning tarot, developing your intuition, or exploring a spiritual practice, it’s important to remember that mastery doesn’t happen overnight. I’ve been studying tarot and spirituality for more than 25 years, and I still learn new things every day. The learning never really stops, and that’s part of what makes the journey so rewarding.
One thing I wish I had known when I was younger is that it’s okay to step away and come back. There can be a lot of pressure to constantly study, practice, or progress, but spiritual development isn’t a race. There were times in my own journey when I put certain practices down for a while and returned to them later when I felt called to do so. Trusting that timing is important.
When it comes to magical work and spiritual practice, my advice is to trust your intuition. There are countless traditions, methods, and teachers available today, and what resonates with one person may not resonate with another. Don’t be afraid to explore and discover what feels authentic to you rather than trying to fit yourself into someone else’s expectations.
The same applies to tarot and card reading. While learning traditional card meanings is important, I have found that intuition plays an equally important role. There are many times when the textbook meaning of a card isn’t the message I’m receiving in a reading. Over the years, I’ve learned to trust what Spirit is communicating to me and to honor my instincts. That trust has served me well throughout my career.
Most importantly, don’t worry too much about what other people think. Spirituality is deeply personal, and your path is your own. Stay curious, stay open-minded, and allow yourself the freedom to grow into the practitioner you’re meant to become.
