Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Geeson.
Hi Chloe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Chloe is an emerging singer‑songwriter from South Yorkshire, born in 1998, who has built a global audience through her distinctive vocal talent, heartfelt storytelling, and lifelong dedication to music. She began writing songs at just ten years old, later teaching herself keyboard and piano at twelve, and eventually discovering her favourite instrument—the guitar—at eighteen. Alongside performing, Chloe writes all her own songs, blending emotion, narrative, and melody in a way that has resonated deeply with listeners worldwide. She first gained major traction on SoundCloud, where her music has surpassed 33 million streams, and her varied style—featuring both original work and well‑loved favourites—has led to multiple online hits and nearly 2 million YouTube streams. Self‑represented on Spotlight, Chloe lives by her motto: “Dream, Play, Create, Sing,” reflecting her creative drive and commitment to her craft. Her journey includes numerous performances, including televised features on BBC Look North and BBC Children in Need. Her EPs Wonderland, Forget, and Gravity, released in 2021, continue to be streamed globally and featured on XRPRadio, BTD Radio, Amazing Radio, Radiocardiff, and many more. Chloe’s story is one of passion, growth, and authenticity—and her audience continues to expand as she shares more of her music with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Although my journey has been incredibly rewarding, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Throughout the years, I’ve often been told that I couldn’t sing or that I didn’t play guitar well enough, and hearing those things so early on made it difficult to build confidence in my craft. I’m naturally very shy and anxious, which means performing live has always been a personal hurdle, and I don’t take to the stage as often as I’d like. On top of that, balancing music with a regular job has made it challenging to find the time to practice, write, and grow and upload creatively in the way I aspire to. Still, every obstacle has shaped me, strengthened my determination, and pushed me to keep creating, keep learning, and keep sharing my music with the people who connect with it. And I try to practice my craft and upload something when I can.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an artist, I’m best known for my heartfelt, storytelling approach to songwriting and my ability to connect emotionally with listeners across the world. I write all my own music, blending personal experiences with imaginative narratives, and I perform using a mix of instruments—including piano, keyboard, and especially guitar, which has become my favourite to play. My vocal style and the honesty in my lyrics have helped me build a global audience, with over 33 million streams on SoundCloud and nearly 2 million on YouTube. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve achieved this independently, representing myself on Spotlight and growing my career through passion rather than industry backing. My EPs Wonderland, Forget, and Gravity continue to reach listeners internationally, and my work has been featured on BBC Look North, BBC Children in Need, XRPRadio, BTD Radio, Amazing Radio, Radiocardiff, and more. What sets me apart is my authenticity—my music is deeply personal, created from a place of vulnerability, imagination, and genuine love for the craft. Despite being naturally shy and anxious, I’ve continued to push myself creatively, and I’m proud of the community I’ve built through my songs and the connection they create.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing about me that most people don’t know is that I’ve had a few unexpected celebrity encounters over the years. I once saw a member of One Direction in Pizza Hut—no lie, it was one of those moments where you do a double‑take and wonder if your eyes are playing tricks on you. I also had the chance to meet Shawn Mendes, which was surreal and unforgettable, and I’ve even met the one living Chuckle Brother from ChuckleVision. These little moments always make people laugh because they’re so random, but they’ve become fun memories that I love sharing.
