Life & Work with Brandon Russell of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Russell.

Hi Brandon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey is rooted in a blend of service, storytelling, and an unwavering drive to create. I’m a U.S. Army veteran, a proud graduate of Tennessee State University, and a striving artist and entrepreneur. For over a decade, I’ve dedicated myself to serving others as a career, but parallel to that path has always been a deep, burning passion for music and entrepreneurship.

Musically, I operate under the stage name MINDFRAME. Deeply embedded in the Southern hip-hop and R&B scene, my focus has always been on raw, lyrical storytelling and motivational themes. I believe music should make you think and feel, reflecting real-life experiences, grind, and resilience.

The same drive birthed my independent streetwear brand, AirBornKingsLifeLongDreams (ABKLLD), which is available as an e-commerce store on my website, www.thankgodimframe.com. What started as a vision to create meaningful high-quality apparel has grown into a true lifestyle brand that represents chasing your aspirations against all odds.

Getting to where I am today has been about mastering the balance- juggling the raw execution required of an independent artist and business owner. Every step has been about building a legacy, keeping GOD at the center, and inspiring anyone listening or watching to lick into their own winning “mindframe”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but I firmly believe that the struggles are what shape the substance of my story. When you hear the depth and motivation in my music, it’s because it comes from a real place of navigating these hurdles. The single greatest challenge has been mastering the balance of time and energy. Juggling a demanding full-time career with the absolute dedication required to run a business and music career takes intense discipline. There are days when switching gears from a structured corporate environment to a completely creative, entrepreneurial headspace feels like working two full-time jobs.

Ultimately, the road isn’t smooth because building a legacy from scratch isn’t supposed to be easy. Overcoming mental fatigue, staying consistent when the immediate payoff isn’t visible, and keeping the focus alive are daily practices. But pushing through those obstacles is exactly what gives my brand its name- it forces you to lock into a “LifeLongDream” and never look back.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At my core, I am a builder of narratives. I specialize in creating concepts that inspire resilience! In the creative community, I am known for my substance and my meticulous approach to execution. Musically, people know me for delivering powerful messages, whether on standout records, live on-air interviews, or performing on major/local stages. Visually, I’m known for a crisp, professional aesthetic! I take pride in my craft musically and visually to make my talent and story undeniable.

I’m most proud of my independence and my consistency. Being able to balance all the things on my plate and still find success is a massive achievement for me. I haven’t had to compromise my identity or my values to scale my music or my brand. Seeing people wear ABKLLD apparel or connect with my music, knowing it was built entirely from the ground up through independent execution, is incredibly rewarding.

What truly sets me apart is the unique perspective I bring to the table. My background is built on a foundation of diverse, high-stakes environments. The combination of growing up on the streets of Memphis, TN, military discipline, academic accomplishments, and corporate professionalism infuses my creative work with a rare level of maturity and focus. I don’t just create art for entertainment: I build experiences designed to shift your perspective and elevate!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
While independence is a major part of my identity, absolutely no one achieves success entirely on their own. I’ve been incredibly blessed to have a powerful circle of mentors, collaborators, and family members who have played a role in the growth of my music career and my brand. To name a few, my father (Pops), Capo of Small Axe Agency, J. Joy and Ambition & Goals Music Group.

Every single one of these individuals has poured into my life, helping me turn a vision into a reality. They are just as much a part of the brand’s success as I am.
