Hi alexandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started aodkscandles in 2022. my goal and thought process honestly was, i’m a creative. I love cocktails. im a hustler. I wanted to challenge myself and bring things i visioned to life. candles have always been apart of my everyday life, everyday routine. whether it’s for cleaning purposes, spiritual purposes, resetting purposes, candles have always been apart of my life. I try to see the beauty in absolutely everything, cocktails; it doesn’t matter! the name of my company is in fact, my name! i wanted to have something that’s mine! even the logo is the most unique thing ive seen in so long. I started this business for creative entities. there’s so many different, abstract, untraditional homeowners or beings that just crave different things! a lot of customers sometime say my candles are so unique that they don’t even burn them. the mind is meant to be explored & things shouldn’t be limited!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
it’s been divine. things happen as they should. some days are busier than others. there’s times where I wanted to give up, support; overthinking; cost of inventory; bills! struggle is apart of success.

i specialize in crafted cocktail non toxic candles! wax melts as well.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think some of the risks that entrepreneurs take some time is just investing your own money investing your own time when sometimes life things really are going on as far as bills or say you have a family or just things of that nature it’s a huge sacrifice to just put all of your time and your money into something that you wanna do even though you might not know if it’ll work out or not, but you’re still sacrificing you’re still taking the time to make the necessary things happen for you and your business and your vision. you can have a vision and you don’t no who’s really going to you know like it or you know enjoy it but that’s just the rest that you take because you’re going off of your instincts and things that you really believe in it’s all about what you believe in. you have to believe in you no matter what
