Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Fawcett.
Hi Bob, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to photography wasn’t exactly linear, but every step prepared me for the quality and scale of the work I do now. I actually started my career in investment banking before transitioning into reality TV production in Los Angeles, working on shows like Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Production taught me an immense amount about lighting, composition, and visual storytelling, which naturally led me to pick up a camera to photograph real estate during production breaks.
I quickly went full-time with a local high-volume photography company in LA, but I soon realized my true passion wasn’t in assembly-line shooting—it was in precision, high-end artistry. In 2015, I struck out on my own to launch Peak 15 Photography, with a strict focus on delivering world-class visuals for larger, more complex projects.
That move opened doors to shooting for major commercial real estate brokerage firms across California and Las Vegas. It was an incredibly fun era—blazing desert shoots, late nights on downtown LA high-rise rooftops, and creating drone and helicopter aerial imagry. I even had Jennifer Lopez walk right through one of my shoots for Harry Winston on Rodeo Drive!
Through those high-stakes environments, I honed my craft and naturally transitioned into working with the clients I love most: premium architecture and design firms.
In 2020, my wife and I made the move to Nashville to grow our family. For the last few years, I intentionally took on a selective schedule so I could pull double duty as a homeschool dad. It allowed me to give absolute focus to a few incredible marquee clients, including Anderson Design Studio, while creating the best work of my career. Now, with family life in a more balanced state, I am incredibly excited to open up the calendar, expand Peak 15, and collaborate with new design and architectural partners in the region who want to elevate how their spaces are seen.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think any entrepreneur will tell you that the road is always a mix of smooth stretches and sharp turns. Early on, the challenge was simply building momentum and proving that Peak 15 could consistently deliver at a higher tier than the high-volume agencies. Once that stage got going, it became a great period of consistent revenue growth and large scale, interesting commercial projects.
But the biggest, most rewarding challenge was our move to Nashville in 2020. Relocating a business built entirely on local relationships means leaving an established network behind and planting new roots.
At the same time, we were expanding our family. Balancing the launch of Peak 15 in a new region while stepping into the role of a homeschool dad meant I had to be incredibly disciplined with my time. It was a beautiful challenge, but it required me to pivot from a higher-volume mindset to a highly selective model.
The struggle of “starting over” actually became a massive blessing. It forced me to be incredibly intentional about the local relationships I built and allowed me to give undivided, elite service to my clients here. Now that the family routine is a little more predictable, I’m incredibly excited to bring that focused, high-end LA production experience to a wider circle of Nashville designers and architects.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I am an architectural photographer, but I view my role as a collaborator rather than just someone taking pictures of a room. Every space an architect or designer creates makes a distinct statement. My job is to translate that physical statement into a stunning visual medium, illuminating the incredible layers of detail, texture, and light that my clients poured their hearts into.
What really sets Peak 15 apart is my background in high-end portrait and wedding photography. Because of this, I also specialize in editorial environmental portraiture. I don’t just photograph the finished space; I capture the visionaries inside their spaces. Designers and architects are the faces of their brands, and providing them with magazine-ready, lifestyle imagery of themselves interacting with their own masterpieces adds a powerful, human element to their portfolios. It gives them complete visual content to market both their work and their personal brand.
What am I most proud of? The level of trust my clients place in me. And that trust isn’t bound by geography. While Nashville is my proud home base, my camera is completely borderless. I am willing to travel anywhere for the right project and have the logistical experience to back it up—I’ve traveled as far as India to photograph a large, multi day wedding.
Whether a project is right here in Tennessee or halfway across the globe, I bring that same adaptable energy to ensure the world sees my clients’ designs exactly as they intended.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
To me, risk is refreshing, uncomfortable, and absolutely necessary for growth. That initial leap into the abyss always brings a mix of fear and exhilaration, but it’s always followed by expansion. I actually find it easier to take larger, calculated risks rather than small ones. In fact, I’ve entirely upended my career four different times in pursuit of creativity and independence.
The first major risk was leaving a stable, structured career in investment banking in Chicago because I knew my true calling was something visual. I moved to LA with no connections, just pure drive, to break into TV production.
Once that career took off and stabilized, I took another leap—putting production on hold for a six-month backpacking journey through Asia, Patagonia, and Antarctica. Experiencing those extreme, awe-inspiring landscapes completely recalibrated my visual eye and deeply influenced how I understand scale and natural light.
Returning from that, I took the risk of betting on myself to launch Peak 15 Photography from scratch. And finally, relocating our family of five to Nashville and shifting into a selective, dad-first schedule was a transitional risk, but it brought immense joy to my life.
When it comes to my work, I don’t just always show up and take standard, predictable photos. Because I’m comfortable with risk, I’m willing to chase the difficult angles, wait out the perfect dramatic lighting, and push creative boundaries to ensure my clients get images that truly stand out in a crowded market.
