Meet Andrew Krichels of Creative Action Seminars

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Krichels.

Hi Andrew, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I danced in New York for 25 years touring internationally and performing in the city and destroyed my body. I got my degree from suny in psychology went to Naropa for extended training and got certified in 15 different modalities first of all to heal my body and soul in 2003 I began working at The Ranch recovery workshops and opened my studio in five points for individual bodywork including Pilates, Chinese medical Qi Gong, Bowen therapy in many other modalities now I run my center creative action, seminars, and work at Onsite workshops in the Estuary school of HealingArts. I work with individuals that I clinic and groups at the other places., I’ve been sober 35 years so I also work in addiction and recovery. When I retired from dancing, they wanted to use six vertebrae and I had no use of my right arm and I had arthritis in both feet. I have worked through all of that non-surgically.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Retiring from the professional New York dance world was a big change in SELF image. As was getting sober and healing my body. Work wise it has been quite smooth one thing getting to the other very organically

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I use my extensive dance training and experience to help people connect with their own bodies and then using the creative process how to create community. Knowing the community is the opposite of trauma.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I have healed all those injuries in my body and I’m rollerblading swimming biking and I just turned 75
