Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Nickaro.
Hi Brooke, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For most of my life, I’ve been focused on everyone else. I’m a single mom of four, I’ve worked a full-time job for years, and like many women, I put my own dreams on the back burner while making sure my family had what they needed.
A few months ago, I decided it was finally my turn.
I started taking content creation seriously—not because I thought it would be easy, but because I wanted to create a life with more freedom, creativity, and experiences for myself and my children. At first, I believed my videos had to look like everyone else’s. I spent too much time comparing myself, wondering if I was doing enough or if I belonged in this space.
Then something shifted.
I realized the only thing I can offer that no one else can is me. My perspective as a woman over 40, a single mom, someone who’s experienced setbacks, self-doubt, and personal growth, is what makes my content meaningful. Whether I’m showcasing a Nashville restaurant, a hotel, a travel destination, or simply putting together an outfit that makes me feel confident, I’m really sharing something bigger: what it looks like to choose yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable.
I’m still working my 9-to-5 while building this dream, and I’m nowhere near the finish line. But that’s exactly why I love documenting the journey. I hope people see that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You just have to keep showing up.
Today, I’m building a lifestyle, fashion and travel brand centered around authenticity, confidence, and finding joy in everyday moments. If my story encourages even one person to stop waiting for the “perfect” time and start believing in themselves, then sharing it has been worth it. I’m also meeting great people along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not at all but it’s still going. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been just giving myself permission to live for me kids aside. For years, my focus was on surviving, providing for my family, and doing what needed to be done. Investing in myself felt unfamiliar, and honestly, a little selfish.
This is forcing me to step outside of my comfort zone in ways I never expected, being comfortable being seen, hearing opinions from strangers, and putting my work out into the world without knowing how it will be received. Every time I press “post,” there’s still a little vulnerability involved but I’m learning.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as an auto claims adjuster, where I investigate vehicle damage claims, review coverage, determine liability, and help customers navigate what is often a stressful and unexpected situation. My role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to make fair, informed decisions while balancing the needs of both the customer and the company.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to remain calm and compassionate during difficult conversations. Many people I speak with are dealing with the aftermath of an accident, and I strive to make the claims process as clear and manageable as possible. I understand that behind every claim is a person whose daily life has been disrupted.
I believe what sets me apart is my combination of empathy and problem-solving. I take the time to listen, ask the right questions, and thoroughly evaluate each claim while treating every customer with respect. Building trust, communicating clearly, and finding practical solutions are values I bring to my work every day.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think more people will pursue content creation as a career instead of just a hobby. Brands will continue shifting toward authentic creators who genuinely connect with their audiences.
