Hi Savannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Ohio and graduated high school a year early so I could move to New York City at 17 to pursue modeling. It was a huge leap, but I knew I wanted to build a career in the creative industry. As I worked in modeling, I saw a lot of things I wanted to change, which inspired me to launch my own casting agency, Queen Castings. Today, we’ve built a database of thousands of models and creators, focusing on same day payments, representing all ethnicities, and creating a better experience for talent.
When COVID happened, modeling slowed down, so I started creating content online. That unexpected change ended up leading me to my true passion. I fell in love with discovering unique experiences, hidden gems, restaurants, and destinations, then sharing them in a way that inspires other people to get out and explore. Today, I’ve grown an audience of over 400,000 followers combined across my platforms, and I love that every video has the chance to inspire someone to try something new, visit a new place, or create memories of their own.
Looking back, it’s funny how the path I originally planned led me somewhere completely different, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. Looking back, every stage of my career has come with its own challenges. When I first moved to New York to model, I was navigating the industry as a petite model, which meant I heard “no” a lot more than “yes.” It taught me to keep going even when things didn’t happen as quickly as I hoped.
When I transitioned into content creation during COVID, it felt like starting over. I had to figure out who my audience was, what type of content I wanted to create, and build relationships with brands from the ground up. There were plenty of videos that didn’t perform well, but I kept showing up, learning, and trying new ideas until I found what connected with people.
At the same time, I was growing Queen Castings, which comes with a completely different set of responsibilities. I’m not only running a business, but also making sure talent gets paid, everyone shows up, clients are taken care of, and every production runs smoothly. Balancing content creation, travel, and running a casting agency isn’t always easy, but I genuinely love both sides of what I do.
I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success rarely happens overnight. It’s built through consistency, learning from setbacks, and continuing to show up even when things don’t go as planned.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think both good and bad luck have played a role in my journey, but I’ve learned that it’s really about what you do with the opportunities you’re given. Moving to New York at 17, starting my own casting agency, and transitioning into content creation during COVID all came from taking chances and adapting when things didn’t go as planned.
I’ve also learned that sometimes what feels like bad luck at the time ends up leading you somewhere even better. If modeling hadn’t slowed down during COVID, I may have never discovered my passion for content creation. Looking back, some of my biggest setbacks ended up becoming my biggest opportunities.
At the same time, I don’t think success is just luck. It’s showing up every day, staying consistent, and being ready when the right opportunity comes along. I believe luck tends to find the people who are willing to keep putting in the work, even when no one is watching.
