Today we’d like to introduce you to Lili Venus.
Hi Lili, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey really started with me just being somebody who always had a lot of gifts and never wanted to put myself in one box. I’m Lili Venus, an artist, entrepreneur, healer, doula, massage therapist, Reiki practitioner, and the owner of Essence of Inanna LLC. Music has always been one of the biggest ways I express myself, but over the years I realized my purpose was bigger than just being on a stage. I’ve been through motherhood, loss, career changes, and plenty of moments where I had to completely reinvent myself, and every experience pushed me closer to becoming the woman and creative I am today.
Where I am now is really the result of me continuing to bet on myself. I’ve built my brand around everything that naturally represents me, from music and spirituality to wellness, healing, and helping other people. As Lili Venus, I’ve continued growing as an independent artist and performer while also building Essence of Inanna into a space where I can use my other gifts and services. My story is still being written, but I’m proud that I never allowed one title or one chapter of my life to define me. Everything I’ve experienced has become a part of my purpose, my art, and the legacy I’m creating.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest struggles has been staying independent and having to fund almost everything out of my own pocket. Being an independent artist sounds good because you have creative control, but people don’t always see the financial side of it. Studio time, videos, marketing, performances, travel, wardrobe, and everything that comes with building a brand costs money. Sometimes I have to choose between investing in my music and handling real life responsibilities, and that can slow down the process even when I know exactly where I want to go.
Another struggle has been doing so much without a solid team behind me. When you don’t have management, marketing, booking, PR, and other people helping push the vision, you end up wearing every hat yourself. I’m the artist, but I’m also handling the business, making connections, promoting myself, finding opportunities, and figuring things out as I go. It can be exhausting and sometimes frustrating because talent alone is not enough in this industry. Having the right team and financial backing can make a huge difference, but being independent has also taught me how to advocate for myself, protect my work, and keep going even when I have to build it brick by brick.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is really where music, spirituality, and healing all meet. Through Essence of Inanna LLC, I’ve created a Botanica that offers spiritual and wellness services along with products like crystal bracelets, Florida water, herbal teas, body scrubs, and our manifestation oils. Our manifestation oils are intentionally created for people who want to put real energy behind what they are calling into their lives, whether that’s love, money, protection, confidence, success, or abundance. Lili Venus also serves as the music director for the Botanica, and in the future I’ll be hosting sound baths that combine music, frequency, meditation, and energy work to create a different kind of healing experience. I want people to be able to experience sound as more than entertainment and really understand how powerful it can be.
As an artist, I’m also known for using my music to speak on taboo truths and subjects that people may think about but are sometimes afraid to say out loud. I’ve never wanted to make music just to fit in or follow what everybody else is doing. I want my art to start conversations, challenge perspectives, and give people permission to explore parts of themselves that society may tell them to hide. What I’m most proud of is that everything I do connects back to who I genuinely am. I don’t have to separate the artist from the healer or the entrepreneur from the spiritual woman. What sets me apart is that Lili Venus is more than music, and Essence of Inanna is more than a Botanica. Together they create an entire world centered around expression, truth, intention, and transformation.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
All of my followers are the fuel to my drive. I have spiritual mentors like Dr.Jaacyln the owner of A gathering of goddesses and GiGi from Supreme Beings. My entire school Nashville state helps me learn the business side of music. Corner to Corner Academy helped me learn how to establish a LLC.
