Meet Kimberly Daniel of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Daniel.

Hi Kimberly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For over three decades, I immersed myself in the vibrant world of art education, shaping young minds and kindling creative sparks in classrooms. Those years as an educator gave me a deep appreciation for the transformative power of art.

A decade ago, I began painting en plein air, capturing the beauty of the world in real-time. That passion evolved into the unique joy of live wedding painting over the past seven years. Today, my farm is home to a warm, inspiring gallery and studio where visiting artists join me in teaching and creating unforgettable experiences for guests. It’s been a truly magical journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Transitioning from three decades of art education into the professional art world hasn’t been without its hurdles. In a region with few galleries and limited exhibition space, breaking in and educating our community on the beauty of fine art has been both a challenge and a joy. Finding the right collectors and bringing them into this new chapter of my career has truly been an adventure.

Yet this journey of pivoting, from the classroom to plein air, to painting weddings live, and now creating a welcoming space for art on my own farm, has been nothing short of rewarding. I’ve discovered that every obstacle is just another brushstroke in the larger masterpiece of this artistic life.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Imagine stepping into the Honey Bee Studio, a place where creativity truly blossoms. Named with love by my grandchildren, who affectionately call me “Honey,” this beautiful space is more than just a gallery—it’s a welcoming haven for artists and guests alike.

Here on my farm, visiting artists are invited not only to teach and share their skills but to stay a while, enjoy the serene surroundings, and connect with fellow art lovers. The bed-and-breakfast on the property makes it a perfect retreat where guests can immerse themselves in art and comfort. It’s truly a dream come to life!

How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes me happy is seeing that spark of inspiration in others. Whether it’s a guest discovering their own artistic talent during a workshop or a visiting artist finding joy in our tranquil setting, those moments of connection and creativity fill my heart. Just knowing that the farm and the Honey Bee Studio have become a place where people can find joy, create, and be inspired is what makes me happiest of all.
