Check Out Addison Oaks’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Addison Oaks.

Hi Addison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start as a social media intern while I was in college, before TikTok even existed. In many ways, my career has grown alongside social media as the industry has evolved. Watching platforms change in real time gave me the opportunity to adapt, learn, and build a skill set that has continued to evolve with the landscape.

After graduating, I worked on the agency side in advertising while freelancing on evenings and weekends. Eventually, I was presented with the opportunity to take my freelance business full-time. I took a leap of faith, left my 9-to-5, moved back to Nashville that same week, and haven’t looked back.

Today, I own Addison Social, where I partner with brands and individuals to create thoughtful social media strategies and content that not only looks beautiful but drives results. Looking back, every stage of my journey, from interning to agency life to entrepreneurship, has taught me something valuable. Each season has helped shape the business I have today, and I’m excited to continue growing alongside an industry that’s always evolving!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship has been incredibly rewarding, but it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to create a healthy work-life balance. When you’re building something of your own, it’s easy for work to become part of every hour of the day, and I’ve had to intentionally create boundaries to avoid burnout.

I’ve also had to learn the value of pricing my work appropriately. Early on, I underestimated the value of my time and expertise. As I’ve gained experience and confidence, I’ve realized that charging what your work is worth isn’t just good for your business, but it’s what allows you to continue delivering your best work to your clients.

Probably the biggest lesson, though, has been learning to say no. In the beginning, I felt like I had to say yes to every opportunity. Over time, I’ve realized that every “no” creates space for a better “yes.” Being selective with my time and the projects I take on has allowed me to serve my clients at a higher level while building a business that’s sustainable for the long term.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in social media strategy, content creation, talent management, and creative coaching. Whether I’m working with a brand or an individual creator, my goal is always the same: to create content that feels authentic to my client.

What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built with my clients. I believe the best marketing starts with truly understanding the people behind the brand. Taking the time to build genuine relationships allows me to translate their vision, values, and personality into content that feels authentic and resonates with the right audience.

I think that’s what sets me apart. Beyond strategy and execution, I see myself as a partner and an encourager. I love helping people grow their businesses while also building their confidence!

Any big plans?
My focus is on continuing to build a business that’s rooted in quality over quantity. I’m excited to keep partnering with clients whose values and vision align with mine because I’ve found that’s where the best work & the best results happen for everyone involved!

Social media is constantly evolving, so I’m also continuing to learn, adapt, and stay ahead of what’s next. I love that this industry challenges me to keep growing creatively and strategically.

More than anything, I hope to continue building a business that allows me to make a meaningful impact on the brands and people I work with!
