Meet Kelsey Thurman of Digital Bloom Socials

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Thurman.

Hi Kelsey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually got my start in social media management right out of high school, managing accounts on the side while I was in college. That’s where I fell in love with the field. There’s something so rewarding about helping a business find its voice online and watching it connect with people.

When my husband and I moved to Nashville for his work, I decided to fully commit to my passion and turn it into a real business, and that’s how Digital Bloom Socials was born. Since then, it’s grown faster than I ever expected. I now manage social media and content creation for small businesses across the country, primarily in the beauty and wellness space.

I’ve always been drawn to capturing and curating aesthetic, meaningful moments, so I also run a sister page dedicated to bridal content, creating wedding content and social media posts for brides.

I work exclusively with small businesses because that’s where my passion lies: helping business owners take the stress of social media off their plates so they can focus fully on what they do best. Right now, I’m looking ahead to the next stage of expanding Digital Bloom Socials and growing my team!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely had its bumps. Social media management is still a relatively new field, so there wasn’t much established guidance to follow. I actually started out thinking I wanted to focus solely on wedding content, but I quickly realized my true passion was in social media management as a whole, and I shifted my focus back to that.
Getting here took a lot of research, watching countless videos, and connecting with other creators in the space to learn as I went. For a long time, I was building the business on nights and weekends while working a full-time day job. It was a grind, and honestly, it was mentally taxing at times.
In the early days, I did everything myself, from designing my own logos to building my own website, and I rebranded more than once as I figured out what truly represented me and my work. I’ve learned so much through trial and error along the way. I’m especially grateful to the friends who let me practice on them early on, which gave me the space to work out the kinks before taking on real clients.
I’ve since had a professional branding shoot done, and I’m currently in the process of recreating my website, so I finally feel like my brand reflects where I am. There are still things I want to evolve and grow, but I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Digital Bloom Socials is a social media management and content creation business. I work with small businesses across the country, primarily in the beauty and wellness space, handling everything from content strategy and creation to analytics reporting, so business owners can hand off their social media and focus on running their business.

What sets me apart is the combination of things I bring to the table. I have deep, niche expertise in the beauty and wellness industry, so I understand the services, the language, and what actually resonates with that audience. I pair that with a strong aesthetic and branding eye, because I believe content should look as good as it performs. I also keep my client relationships personal and hands-on rather than treating accounts like a numbers game, and everything I do is backed by results-driven strategy and reporting, so clients always know their social media is working for them, not just looking good.

Brand-wise, I’m proud of a lot of things. My visual identity finally feels like a true reflection of who I am and what Digital Bloom Socials stands for. I’m proud of the quality and consistency of the results I deliver for my clients. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, going from completely self-taught to running a real, growing business. And I’m proud of my sister page, where I get to lean into wedding content and social media for brides as a creative outlet alongside my main work.

What I want readers to take away is that Digital Bloom Socials is built on a genuine passion for helping small businesses thrive online. I only work with small businesses because I love watching them grow, and I take real pride in taking the stress of social media off their plates so they can focus on what they do best.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’d definitely consider myself a risk-taker. I fully believe in myself and in what I’m building, and that belief has pushed me to make some big moves along the way. Scaling back a stable day job to go all-in on my business was a major one. Moving to a new city and starting over professionally was another. I invested money into rebranding before I had steady, predictable income, and I made the decision to turn away clients outside my niche in order to fully specialize in beauty and wellness. Every one of those decisions came with real risk, but they were also what shaped Digital Bloom Socials into what it is today.

A huge part of that confidence comes from my husband. He’s believed in me and my vision from the start, and having that kind of unwavering support has made it so much easier to trust that what I put into this business will come back, and often even more than I expect. That belief, both in myself and from him, is what allows me to see risk not as something to fear but as a necessary part of building something meaningful.
