Today we’d like to introduce you to Youssef.
Hi Youssef, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began with a love of storytelling. Stories have connected people across generations, shaping culture, tradition, religion, and ideology. I’ve always been fascinated by history, by understanding where we come from and where we’re headed, and by creating work that holds deep meaning for both myself and others.
That passion naturally led me to fashion. To me, fashion is a direct reflection of culture, politics, sociology, and faith. Unlike many other art forms, it exists in everyday life, making it one of the most powerful ways to communicate identity and human experience.
My work began with a deep appreciation for women. As my own perspective evolved, I found myself translating the qualities I admire into a feminine lens. I believe women are not only the source of life but also the foundation upon which society is built, and that belief continues to shape everything I create.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Thankfully, my journey into fashion has felt incredibly natural. Because I truly believe this is my calling and have dedicated my life to it, much of it has come intuitively. That isn’t to say there haven’t been challenges. anxiety is certainly part of the process, but it usually stems from my own perfectionism rather than the work itself. Of course, I’d love to make more money, but I think that’s a universal desire across every industry. At the end of the day, I feel fortunate to have found something that feels so deeply aligned with who I am.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Although designing is my greatest passion, I understand that fashion is an unpredictable industry. Success often depends on influence, timing, and the financial ability to sustain a business. Fortunately, I’ve always been both highly creative and deeply practical, which has allowed me to build a career across multiple disciplines.
In addition to designing, I work as a wardrobe stylist, creating looks for musicians, celebrities, music videos, films, and stage productions. I also work in creative direction, helping brands and artists develop every aspect of their visual identity, from styling and image to product development, marketing strategy, networking, and creative execution.
My ability to communicate clearly, work efficiently, and maintain a strong creative vision has allowed me to adapt across industries while bringing them together through a cohesive perspective.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the two qualities that make anyone successful are clear, consistent communication and the ability to work well with others. Whether in a professional or personal setting, it’s important to make people feel heard, understood, and valued while ensuring everyone’s needs are considered. Success isn’t just about accomplishing your own responsibilities it’s also about supporting those around you without making them feel diminished.
I believe everyone should understand how to lead, even if not everyone is meant to be a leader. At its core, leadership is about communicating effectively, collaborating with humility, and setting pride aside in pursuit of a shared goal.
