Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamcidy Wilson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but I officially started my journey as an artist at 17 years old. In 2015, I released my first project, and from that moment on, I was all in. I fell in love with every part of the creative process—from writing and recording to teaching myself how to mix and master my own music. Along the way, I even taught my brother how to do the same. Together, we used music to tell our stories and the stories of people around us. It was all we knew, growing up through the struggles and experiences of the unique side of East Nashville.
About a year ago, I expanded into content creation. I’ve always enjoyed making people laugh, so creating funny content felt like a natural fit. Whether it’s making skits, reacting to hilarious videos, or sharing entertaining moments, I genuinely enjoy every aspect of it. On my other social platforms, I also create thought-provoking content where I share my perspectives on a wide range of topics and invite people into meaningful conversations.
Today, I’m seven projects deep into my music career, with thousands of listeners across streaming platforms, well over a million views on YouTube, and thousands more across my social media channels. Through all the growth, one thing hasn’t changed—I still love creating. Whether it’s through music, comedy, or conversation, my goal has always been the same: to connect with people, tell authentic stories, and leave a lasting impact.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve always been self-taught when it comes to making music—learning how to write songs, record, engineer, mix, and master everything myself. While I think that’s made me a more well-rounded artist, it’s also slowed me down. My creative process takes longer because I handle every part of it on my own. From writing the lyrics to mixing and mastering the final track, designing the cover art, and even shooting and editing my own music video last year, everything is done by me.
Another challenge has been collaborating with other artists. I’m naturally an introvert, but I’ve made an effort to work with people. The problem is that a lot of artists approach it like it’s a competition instead of a collaboration. Because of that, I usually end up sticking to solo projects—not because I prefer it, but because it’s simply easier and allows me to keep moving.
The same goes for content creation. I film my own videos, edit them myself, and pretty much everything related to my brand is done in-house. I genuinely enjoy the creative process, but wearing so many hats can be tedious and mentally exhausting at times. Still, it’s taught me a lot and made me much more independent as an artist.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do rap/hiphop music as well as create funny content for YouTube and social media over all.
I specialize in recording music, mixing and mastering and graphic design. Also, I shoot my own videos for my content creation and edit them as well.
I’m known for my music projects as well as my videos for my content creation.
What I’m most proud of is being self taught on all aspects of my work and independent. Also teaching my brother the same things so he can do his own thing in these fields.
What I stated above I believe sets me apart while everyone might have to deal with others or the middle man to make their goals happen I do everything completely independently.

Currently I’m reading “The Art Of War” it’s one of my favorite books it’s a mind sharpener for me.
