Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrystal Parker.
Hi Chrystal , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I discovered circus arts over a decade ago and quickly fell in love with the creativity, challenge, and connection they brought to people. What started as a passion for performing grew into opportunities at festivals, community events, and private celebrations across the country. Along the way, I realized I loved not only being on stage, but also creating unforgettable experiences behind the scenes.
That passion led me to found Crystalline Entertainment in 2016, a Chattanooga-based entertainment company specializing in immersive circus performances, custom characters, and one-of-a-kind event experiences. Today, I continue to perform while also designing costumes, producing shows, and connecting clients with talented performers to help bring their events to life. Whether I’m on stilts as an enchanted deer, performing acrobatics, or producing a large-scale event, my goal has always been the same: to create moments of wonder that people remember long after the event is over.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Because I grew my business organically, everything has happened one step at a time. I started as an individual performer, then began booking other performers, expanded into producing shows and events, and eventually moved into creating custom costumes, characters, and immersive entertainment experiences. It’s been a slow, steady process of continually reinvesting back into the business rather than having the advantage of startup capital.
As the sole employee, I wear every hat imaginable. On any given day, I might be marketing the business, managing clients and performers, handling accounting, maintaining the studio, designing costumes, promoting events, or coordinating logistics—all while continuing to train as a performer myself and pursue my own artistic goals. Balancing the creative side with the business side is a constant challenge.
Like many in the live entertainment industry, COVID-19 was another major hurdle. Overnight, events disappeared, and an industry built around bringing people together came to a standstill. It forced me to adapt, stay patient, and continue building behind the scenes until live events returned.
Looking back, I wouldn’t describe the journey as easy, but I am proud that every stage of Crystalline Entertainment has been built from the ground up through persistence, reinvestment, and a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At its core, my work is about creating memorable experiences through live entertainment. As the owner of Crystalline Entertainment, I produce immersive entertainment for festivals, corporate events, weddings, galas, and community celebrations. We specialize in circus arts, stilt walking, acrobatics, fire performance, aerial arts, interactive ambient entertainment, and custom-designed characters and costumes that transform an event into something truly unique.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve been able to turn a genuine passion for performing, movement, creativity, and cultivating community into a career. I never wanted to build a business just for the sake of owning one—I wanted to create a life centered around the things that felt the most authentic to me. The fact that I now get to help bring joy, wonder, and connection to thousands of people through the work we do is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
I think what sets Crystalline Entertainment apart is that it has been built completely from the ground up with love and passion. Every decision has been driven by a desire to create meaningful experiences rather than simply provide a service. The company is deeply rooted in community. Many of the performers I work with are people I’ve trained alongside for years, collaborated with creatively, and built lasting relationships with. That trust and shared passion show in the quality of our performances.
Our custom costume and character creation is another thing that truly sets us apart. Rather than offering standard entertainment packages, we love designing original characters and immersive experiences that are tailored to each client’s vision, theme, and audience. Whether it’s an enchanted forest brought to life with towering stilt creatures, elegant performers greeting guests at a gala, or a fully produced circus variety show, we approach every event as an opportunity to create something memorable and one of a kind.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If there’s one thing I’d like readers to take away, it’s that it’s never too late to pursue something that genuinely lights you up. I didn’t build Crystalline Entertainment overnight, and I certainly didn’t have all the answers when I started. Every performance, every costume, every collaboration, and every challenge has been another step in building something that reflects my values.
I also hope people continue to support local artists and performers. Live entertainment has a unique way of bringing people together, creating shared experiences, and building community in a world that often feels increasingly disconnected. Behind every performance is an incredible amount of dedication, practice, craftsmanship, and passion.
At the end of the day, my goal has never been simply to entertain people. It’s to create moments of wonder, connection, and joy that stay with them long after the event is over. If someone leaves one of our performances smiling, inspired, or feeling a little more connected to the people around them, then we’ve done our job.
