Meet Jess Haynes of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Haynes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I became a singer songwriter at the young age of 13. I used to write poems and singing in the choir at church and Music has always just been a huge part of my life. I found myself writing about a lot of the heartache I had experienced in life and it was very therapeutic. I tragically lost my husband in 2022 and became a young widow and a single mom all in a brief moment. Music has helped me in more days than one. I also wrote a book explaining life after loss. I really hope my story can help uplift others and give Hope.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing about being a musician is smooth sailing or no struggles at all. The public eye is a place of lots of judgment, but also a lot of praise. I used to get bullied for my size and that caused a lot of eating disorders.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I use songwriting as a therapeutic outlet. What sets me apart is I lost my husband at such a young age, and most of my songs relate to that and the events following the loss. I’m not just a singer/songs writer, but I took the path of an author.

What matters most to you? Why?
My family matters most to me because you don’t understand valuing a family until you lose them.
