Today we’d like to introduce you to John Pineiro.
Hi John, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Latin/American Producer here in Nashville. Have worked with many new artists in town and have had big success. Born and raised in New York City where I performed with many local artists and bands. Learned Pro Tools after seeing and going to Saturday Night Live Studios in NYC. 3 degrees in Music, where my masters in Jazz Performance (Guitar) was my latest one. Taught Music Theatre for 36 years in the public school system and have now taken to the road with Voice finalist Karen Waldrup as her lead guitarist. Have produced and recorded her last 3 singles here at my studio with the last one being #1 for 6 straight weeks on CMT.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a Puerto Rican musician from NYC here in Nashville, I felt was going to be a problem but as it turned out people, accepted my talent instead of any misconceptions they may have heard
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a musician(Guitar) at an early age (11 years old) has been my saving grace. It kept me out of a lot of trouble growing up on the streets of NY. Developing into the guitar player Ive always dreamed I would be become and now a successful studio owner and producer here in one of he most creative cities in the world. My latest position as Lead Guitar player for Voice finalist Karen Waldrup has been a dream come true. Getting to travel and perform all over the country with her and the awesome band we have put together. Being a producer with my own recording studio (Perfect Image Recording) in Nashville. I had friends here a while back and it was so cool when one of them turned to me while listening to a mix and saying “Man, you really did it. This is what we would dream about when we were kids in our parents basement trying to figure music out.” Being a Voice teacher in the public school system has definitely helped me in producing music for artists
What does success mean to you?
Being happy at what you do. Have played shows all over the country in front of thousands of fans and still love the feeling of having a great show
