Today we’d like to introduce you to Benny Cunningham.
Hi Benny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Benny Cunningham a Nashville native born and raised and just recently I’ve challenged myself to release my music into the world. I’’m a former professional athlete playing 7 years in the NFL and retirement left me trying to figure out what I actually enjoy outside of the football field. During this search I went on a journey of finding myself and it led me into a passion I’d abandoned for football. MUSIC
I started making music around 10 years old but once football became more serious I gave it less attention. So June 6, 2025 I released my first song since revisiting the passion and it became the most liked, shared, and viewed post out of all my previous content including scoring touchdowns during prime time football games. The love I received has encouraged me to make more music and continue this journey not knowing where it will lead.
Overall I hope my story encourages others to face fears and break through the barriers we create for ourselves. “The only impossible journey is the one we never begin.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Revealing music has been vulnerable for me because I’m allowing people to critic my art and that’s still something I’m adjusting to. Also sometimes I feel a bit of anxiety at the thought of performing in front of a large crowd but I’ve learned to face the challenges as they come and continue to focus on the art itself.

I’m a musician and I’m most proud of stepping into this space with courage and facing the fear of the unknown. I think my story sets me apart along with my authentic 1 of 1 sound.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
My childhood was family oriented and revolved around sports which taught me structure and discipline. My interest have always been sports and music for as long as I can remember.
