Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Bowden.
Hi Danielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Joyful Journeys Travel Co. is really a reflection of how my love for travel began. I started traveling to different cities across the United States when I was younger, and my mom always encouraged me to get my passport. When I was in college, I finally did and shortly after, my mom surprised me with a trip to the Bahamas for my birthday. That trip completely changed my perspective and sparked a love for experiencing new cultures, exploring beautiful places, and seeing more of the world. I knew I wanted to share that passion with others, so I started researching the travel industry, and taking courses to become a travel agent. That journey eventually led me to create Joyful Journeys, a name that’s a play on my own name and my love for traveling. What started as a personal passion has grown into a business that allows me to help others create unforgettable travel experiences of their own.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest challenge right now is simply getting the word out and introducing Joyful Journeys to more people. Building a business from the ground up takes time, consistency, and a lot of intentional marketing. I know I have something special to offer, but the biggest hurdle is making sure people know that I’m here and understand the experiences and opportunities I’m creating for travelers.
We’ve been impressed with Joyful Journeys, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started by creating personalized travel itineraries for people. I’ve always been the person who can visit a new city or country and quickly figure out where the best restaurants, nightlife, attractions, and excursions are. I’m naturally a planner, so whenever I traveled with friends, I would create detailed itineraries filled with things to see, places to eat, and experiences to enjoy. Eventually, I realized that something I naturally loved doing could become a business. Now, I’m shifting my focus toward hosting group trips to destinations around the world. Our first official group trip will be to Bali in July 2027, and I’m excited to create an experience that allows travelers to explore the destination while also connecting with other like minded people. What makes Joyful Journeys unique is that my group trips are designed to be inclusive and accessible to travelers of different ages and backgrounds. There’s no specific age group you have to fit into to join us. I also offer payment plans, allowing travelers to break the cost of their trip into smaller, more manageable payments rather than paying everything upfront. Excursions are included in the trip packages as well, so travelers can focus on enjoying the destination without having to constantly worry about the cost of additional experiences. At the heart of Joyful Journeys is my goal of creating luxurious travel experiences that are still budget friendly and attainable. I want people to realize that you don’t have to spend an unreasonable amount of money to experience beautiful destinations, stay in fancy accommodations, while creating memories.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t necessarily call it luck. I give all the credit to God. He has truly directed my path and revealed my purpose to me in ways I couldn’t have planned for myself. He showed me how to take something I genuinely love, travel and turn it into a business that can create opportunities and generate income while allowing me to do something I’m passionate about. I’m still at the beginning of this journey, but I have faith that God is going to continue to guide me and grow Joyful Journeys into something far greater than I could have ever imagined.
