Rising Stars: Meet Mike Drew of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Drew.

Hi Mike , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I invested into a club/lounge in 2018
I hired one of my friends that’s a comedian to help me get the club going . We created a comedy night and eventually I couldn’t pay him anymore. So everyone at the club was like “Mike should do it”. So I tried hosting it, and became good pretty quick. Mainly for being quick witted and being able to improve at a high level. I started getting recognition in the open mic circuit, then eventually i started getting booked for guest spots. After learning more about the craft I quickly moved up to opener, then featuring to headlining, which lead me to bigger and better opportunities such as movies, films, radio, meeting celebrities. I just won SEA Comedian of the year. I’m also known as Nashville’s super host.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey has been pretty smooth for me because I’m actually having fun doing it. Some of the challenges in comedy for me has been writing and memorizing all the things that I say or write. The biggest challenge is raising money to travel.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I own a barber shop that I also work in.
I also have 2 cleaning contracts
And of course I do comedy shows on the weekends

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Being free in life in every way possible
