Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregory Mayo.
Hi Gregory, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in a small, industrial town in the Midwest – Warren, Ohio. I developed a great interest in show business from watching television and going to the movies at the local theater. After high school graduation, I went to college in Ohio @ Denison University and did another year of graduate study in philosophy @ The George Washington University. My brother was doing a residency in surgery in Oakland, CA and encouraged me to come out and live with him……finally closer to Hollywood! A few years later, I relocated to Los Angeles and completed my MBA @ Pepperdine University while working in industrial sales & marketing. I did my best to secure a position in the business of show, but nothing connected. After years of applications, I decided to strike out on my own and secured the license and guild franchises to be an independent, talent & literary agent. Everyone told me that I would never make it – here decades later, I am still working in my chosen field in Music City, Nashville. Grateful!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is never smooth – the challenges are what develop character & vision while testing your commitment. Looking to others for approval is fine but finding that space of passion within yourself is the most important. Whatever burns in your heart can only be realized through your own personal commitment to yourself. Show business – ‘smooth’ road……I do not think so! But when it works – it really is wonderful!

I have been around for several decades as an independent talent & literary agent servicing the career requirements of actors, directors, and writers for film, television, streaming, and theater. I am known for my passion for the arts and for my personal commitment to do the best that I can for each client in securing career opportunities. I am most proud of building careers for talented individuals from the beginning…..and rebuilding careers for individuals that were thought lost. I really feel that I am unique in this world of digital import.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Moving to Nashville, I have become so interested in Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) and attend many events related thereof. To God be the Glory!
