Meet John Snow of Snow Flow Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Snow.

Hi John, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I had a pretty interesting start, I always loved the way guitar sounded sonically. I would play guitar hero with the settings to where the guitar was louder than everything else. I ended up getting pretty good and just figured I could play a real guitar. My dad got me a guitar and I took lessons for maybe a month and then just started learning on my own. I would watch videos of Eric Gales and mimic them note for note. That was my start! I started playing in a quartet group called Men of Prayze at 15 and continued to sharpen my skills. I made some great relationships along the way and ended up meeting a guy by the name of John Jackson (a phenomenal producer and musical director) who has included me on his journey. He is a part of the Flyte Tyme production company (Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis) and has been extremely instrumental in my success.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has honestly been everything I have wanted. I am a Construction Scheduler by day and a Professional Guitarist by night, I get the best of both worlds. Schedules conflict sometimes but there is always a way!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a guitarist that is known for both my play on stage and my content online. I am honestly proud of my entire career and I am happy to be also be venturing out as an artist myself. The album I have coming is something I am extremely proud of. I think what sets me apart from others is my approach to music itself. I try not to approach my instrument as just a guitar but more of a voice that can also be a guitar. his perspective allows me to have a different approach and sound to what I play.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I’ve had countless mentors and important role players in my life. My parents, my bandmates, my friends who are in the industry and honestly the gambit of people I’ve met along the way. I make it my mission to learn things from everyone on my journey whether it’s what to do or what not to do.
