Exploring Life & Business with Southeast Pack Trips of Southeast Pack Trips

Today we’d like to introduce you to Southeast Pack Trips.

Hi Southeast Pack Trips, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Southeast Pack Trips was founded by Larry in 1988 out of his lifelong love for horses, the Big South Fork, and the great outdoors. What started as a passion for sharing the beauty of this incredible region has grown into a destination where people can unplug, reconnect with nature, and experience unforgettable horseback adventures. Whether it’s a family vacation, a romantic getaway, a bachelor or bachelorette party, a corporate retreat, or friends looking for a unique outdoor experience, Southeast Pack Trips welcomes riders of all skill levels. Our mission has always been to create lasting memories while sharing the trails, scenic overlooks, and natural beauty that have inspired us for decades.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Southeast Pack Trips was founded by Larry in 1988 from his lifelong passion for horses, the Big South Fork, and the outdoors. What began as a way to share the incredible beauty of this region has grown into a destination where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and create lasting memories on horseback.

We specialize in guided horseback adventures through the scenic trails of the Big South Fork, welcoming everyone from first-time riders to experienced horse enthusiasts. Over the years, we’ve hosted family vacations, family reunions, couples’ getaways, girls’ trips, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and groups looking for a unique outdoor experience. Every ride is designed to be safe, enjoyable, and memorable.

What sets us apart is our personal approach. We don’t believe guests are just customers—they become part of our extended family. We take pride in matching riders with the right horses, sharing the history and beauty of the area, and creating experiences that people talk about long after they return home.

One of the things we’re most proud of is staying true to the values the business was built on nearly four decades ago: a love of horses, respect for nature, and genuine Southern hospitality. Today, we’re also sharing those experiences through travel and social media, introducing new audiences to the Big South Fork and encouraging people to discover one of Tennessee’s hidden gems. Whether someone is looking for adventure, relaxation, or quality time with family and friends, we want every guest to leave with unforgettable memories and a desire to return.

What makes you happy?
