Conversations with Jack Kent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Kent.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my music journey at the age of fourteen learning piano at my local music store in Homewood, Illinois. From there I began to take a creative writing class during the same time. I eventually wrote my first song and since then have been in love with music. Currently I create music through a band named Tonsure and my own solo music project.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth. It has been up and down. Intrusive negative thoughts were always the main struggle I have and still fight with.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in songwriting. I written an unreleased song named nomad that I am most proud of. It is currently in production. I create melodies that weave between folk and blues. I am only a person, nothing really sets me apart from others.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being alone and wriitng songs. I feel calm and free to do what I want.
