Hidden Gems: Meet Corinna Valdez of Aesthetically Vibin’

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinna Valdez.

Corinna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello my name is Corinna Valdez and I am the owner of Aesthetically Vibin’ in Clarksville, TN. I moved to Clarksville the summer of 07 when I graduated high school. I was a teen mom who thought moving to a different state with my sons’ father would be best for us. I was able to be a stay at home mom for about 2.5 years with my son and daughter before I went back to waitressing.I believed at such a young age that moms don’t often put themselves first, which is very important. Just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pour into yourself and take care of yourself. Sometimes feeling beautiful can make you feel so much better about yourself. In 2016 I decided what I wanted to do with my life not just for me but for my kids.so I decided to go to school to become an Esthetician . Something I felt very passionate about. I graduated with my hours for my esthetics license, had my youngest son, got proposed to at that graduation and then my children’s father broke up with me 2 days after my birthday. All in the same year! I became a single mother who decided to fight for my career and work hard to get to where I am today. August 31 marks my 10 year anniversary being a Licensed Esthetician. 5 years into it decided to take the leap of faith and create my own business. Best decision as a single mom I could have done.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not!! I struggled the last 10 years due to my kids father not helping when needed. We moved a lot, lost cars, and sometimes needed help with bills or other things because their father and I just couldn’t get along but it was due to his lack of communication and not wanting to be cordial . It was a very very messy and bad breakup. I was so new to the single mom club I had no idea what I was doing or how. My family was back in Indiana and they tried to help as much as they could from afar. I did what I had to do as a mother and often worked 2 jobs in the beginning of being licensed just to try and survive. I have 3 kids and was NOT going to give up on them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in full body waxing, brow tinting, and skincare. I also make my own brightening sugar scrubs that I sell as well. It’s really a big hit and I’m super proud of it. What makes my business and myself different from the rest is that this is STILL my passion… I don’t do this for money I do it because I love making people feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin. We live in a world where being an entrepreneur is treated as a trend instead of a career/ profession. I am different and I don’t want to fit in with trends or social media. It just so happens I have to use social media to network my business and gain clientele. I am a safe place for everyone, no matter the age, gender, race, or religious beliefs/ background. I am known for having the “cheapest prices” in town. Because as a single mother I believe self care should be affordable for everyone. Especially moms. I am also known for being very flexible and understanding. I allow kids to come in because we live in a military town a lot of moms have husbands or spouses over seas or just gone due to different orders. They don’t have anyone to help them here so i allow them to bring there child(ren) if they need to.. I have snacks and drinks and little stuffies in my suite to keep them occupied. My appointment books always stay open so you can book last minute or same day bookings! It’s so convenient for everyone. And let’s not forget everyone and I mean everyone says my playlist is a whole vibe. It’s not work when it’s something you love. I have some pretty amazing clients.

What were you like growing up?
I was a very talkative kid growing up in elementary school I became more shy as I got to middle and high school. But once you got to know me I came out of my shell. In middle school I was in classes like home economics and industrial technology classes. I love to learn new things. I’m very smart, artistic, creative, and pretty funny. In middle school I played the trumpet and was in the jazz band. I loveeeee music. I was on the swimming team my freshman year in high school. I was in every art class they had from chalk, painting, learning to shade and draw and paint self portraits to also taking a semester in photography. I also loved my interior decorating class. My junior year I got pregnant with my oldest son. But finished high school graduating with my class of 07 for my high school diploma.
