Life & Work with TJ Pruitt of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to TJ Pruitt.

Hi TJ, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As an author of over seventy books, and an artist, my books covering numerous topics from history to fiction, I love both writing and painting. My social media theme has been and continues to be “adding value through words and pictures.” Whether it’s a mystery featuring a fictional detective or a book on those who lost the presidency but navigated the country, I love how words can paint a picture.
At the same time, I love how drawings and paintings can tell a story. As an artist in watercolor, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, and even digital media, I enjoy both portraits and landscapes. Every face has a story to tell, and often a portrait is merely an introduction to that journey. As an artist and a writer, I love to share those adventures with the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every journey comes with obstacles, but they also help to season your writing and painting. Personal tragedy, everyday challenges, and life altering events have all shaped the words and photos I share, my faith in Christ being the central navigation of my life and art.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Two series I’m thrilled to be doing have a personal connection. As both the grandson and son of coal miners, the “Appalachian Heritage” series reflects the challenges of those from the southwest Virginia and larger Appalachian region. As a history buff, and someone born in 76, history has always been a strong component of my life, so our “USA 250” series explores the people and events which has made our country such a wonderful place to grow up in and live.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
They can find my books on amazon @ www.amazon.com/author/pruittwrites and my art on Instagram through @PruittWrites currently. We also share instructional and infotainment videos on both YouTube and TikTok under the PruittWrites social media presence.
