Today we’d like to introduce you to Brody Fackler.
Hi Brody , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story really starts in Oklahoma, where I was born, but I moved to Casper when I was around seven years old, and growing up there played a huge role in shaping who I am today. I’ve always loved music, but around sixth grade, I started realizing that it was more than just something I enjoyed; it was something I could actually see myself pursuing for the rest of my life. Growing up in the church, my faith was also a huge part of my life, and over time, those two things my faith and my love for country music started coming together. I fell in love with the way country music can tell real, honest stories about life, and I began dreaming about creating music that could do the same while also giving people hope. That dream eventually brought me to Nashville, where I decided to study Music Business at Trevecca Nazarene University. Moving from Wyoming to Nashville was a huge leap, but it put me right in the middle of the industry I had dreamed about being part of since I was a kid. Now, I am currently working on my first upcoming single and am super excited to see what God has in store.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust the process and realizing that things don’t always happen on the timeline you expect them to. When you have a dream you’ve been chasing since you were young, it’s easy to look around at what everyone else is doing and wonder if you’re moving fast enough. Moving away from Wyoming and coming to Nashville was also a big adjustment. I went from being surrounded by my family, friends, and everything that was familiar to being in a city where I had to start building new relationships and finding my place. I was also very intimidated because everyone in Nashville is so talented. I’ve also been balancing college, work, songwriting, performing, and trying to build myself as an artist, which can definitely get overwhelming sometimes. There have also been plenty of moments of self-doubt. I’ve had to learn that rejection, comparison, and setbacks are all part of pursuing something you really care about. Through all of it, though, my faith has been what keeps me grounded. I’ve learned that I can work hard and chase the opportunities in front of me while still trusting God with where the journey ultimately leads. Looking back, some of the hardest seasons have also been the ones that have helped me grow the most, both as an artist and as a person.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Christian country artist and songwriter, and my goal is to create music that combines the honesty and storytelling of country music with the hope found in Jesus. I love writing about real life: the good moments, the hard moments, where I come from, the people I love, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. At the end of the day, I want to give people something to relate to when they hear my songs. A big part of who I am as an artist comes from growing up in Wyoming. I think those roots have shaped not only the kind of music I love, but also the kind of person and artist I want to be. I want my music to feel genuine and relatable, and I never want to lose sight of where I came from as I continue pursuing this career in Nashville. What I’m most proud of is simply how far I’ve come. There was a time when all of this was just a dream I had as a kid, and now I’m in Nashville writing songs, building relationships, and taking real steps toward making that dream a reality. I still have a long way to go and learn a lot more about songwriting, but being able to look back and see the growth is something I’m really grateful for. Lastly, I really think what sets me apart is that I am trying to bring faith back into country music. I want people to find hope in Jesus and not at the bottom of the bottle. That’s what I want to be known for as an artist, but I also want to have those fun songs about driving trucks, drinking beer, and having a good time. I also think being from Casper, Wyoming, sets me apart as well.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, God is the main reason why I am chasing this dream in the first place. If He didn’t put this dream in my heart, I wouldn’t be here in Nashville today. My parents (Mike and Shani Fackler) also have been the biggest supporters of my dream of being a Christian country music artist. They have also given me guidance on how to trust in God during hard times. My coworkers at Buckle have also been huge supporters and have helped me find the courage to chase my dreams. As for my mentors, I really owe my Worship Pastor, Morgan Dailey, and my youth pastor, Brittney Valentine, for helping me grow as a singer and musician.
