Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Carver.
Hi Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I founded Carver Concierge in 2012, but in many ways the business started long before that.
I had spent years in roles where I was the person behind the scenes making everything work. I understood how much thought, coordination and invisible effort goes into supporting a busy life, and I also understood how valuable it is to have someone you trust enough to simply say, “Can you handle this?”
Carver Concierge grew from that idea.
What began as a personal concierge company evolved into a private client lifestyle management agency serving executives, entrepreneurs, physicians, professional athletes and busy families in Tampa Bay and Nashville. Over the years, we’ve managed everything from the everyday details of a household to major relocations, home projects, travel, family logistics and the countless moving pieces that allow our clients to focus their time and attention where it matters most.
After more than a decade of working this closely inside people’s lives, I started noticing something bigger.
Some of the most capable and accomplished women I knew were incredibly well supported professionally. They had teams, advisors, assistants and experts around them at work. Yet in their personal lives, many were still carrying an enormous amount themselves.
And because they were capable of doing it, they often did.
That observation became very personal for me, too. I began questioning some of the messages women have absorbed about independence, success and what it means to “have it all together.” Somewhere along the way, being capable became confused with needing to carry everything alone.
That thinking eventually became Well Supported Woman, a platform I’m building around a very simple belief: support is a strategy, not a luxury.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of those two worlds.
Through Carver Concierge, we provide the practical, trusted support that gives people back time, capacity and peace of mind. Through Well Supported Woman, I’m creating conversations and experiences that invite women to think more intentionally about what they carry, what they can release and what a genuinely well-supported life might look like.
Looking back, it feels less like I built two separate things and more like one idea kept getting bigger.
For years, Carver Concierge has helped people live with more support.
Now I’m also asking women to reconsider why we ever believed we were supposed to live without it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
Building a service business is incredibly personal because, especially in the beginning, so much of what clients are buying is their trust in you. That makes growth exciting, but it also makes letting go difficult.
For a long time, I was the person who could always figure it out. If something needed to happen, I made it happen. If there was a problem, I solved it. That served me very well as an entrepreneur, but eventually I realized it could also become a limitation.
You can build a business on your own capability, but you can’t scale one that way.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to move Carver Concierge from being dependent on me to becoming an agency that can deliver the same level of care, discretion and service through a trusted team. That has meant learning how to delegate, create systems, hire well, recover from hiring mistakes and accept that growth is rarely as tidy as it looks from the outside.
I’ve also built the company while navigating different seasons of family life, moving through different markets and expanding into Nashville while continuing to grow our presence in Tampa Bay. There have been years when the business felt incredibly strong and years when I’ve had to rethink almost everything.
And there is an irony in all of this that I see much more clearly now.
I built a company around helping other people create support in their lives while often believing I should be able to carry an enormous amount myself.
That realization has probably influenced Well Supported Woman as much as anything else.
I think many high-capacity women experience the same thing. We become very good at handling things, and because we can, we keep adding more. Eventually the question has to change from, “Can I manage this?” to, “Should I still be the person managing this?”
The challenges have made me a better business owner, but they’ve also changed the way I think about success.
I used to think strength meant being able to handle whatever came my way.
Now I think real strength also includes knowing what deserves your energy, what can be released and where support belongs.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Carver Concierge ?
Carver Concierge is a boutique private client lifestyle management agency serving the Greater Tampa Bay and Nashville areas.
We work with executives, entrepreneurs, physicians, professional athletes, busy families and others whose lives have simply become too full to manage every moving piece themselves.
What we do is much broader than traditional concierge service.
We become a trusted support partner behind the scenes of our clients’ lives. That may mean managing household logistics, coordinating vendors and home projects, handling relocations, overseeing travel and family details, preparing a second home, managing appointments, gifts or personal errands, or simply taking ownership of the long list of things that otherwise continue to live in someone’s head.
The work itself changes from client to client. The real value is that they no longer have to be the person remembering, following up, researching, coordinating and making sure everything gets done.
I often say our clients aren’t really buying hours. They’re buying back time, attention and capacity.
What sets Carver Concierge apart is the level of trust and relationship involved. We are not an on-demand task service. We work closely enough with our clients to understand how they live, what matters to them and how they want things handled. Over time, the goal is that they have to give us less direction, not more.
I’m especially proud that we have grown without losing that very personal standard of service. In a business built around access to people’s homes, families, schedules and personal lives, integrity, discretion and trust aren’t marketing language. They are the business.
That work has also led to the next chapter of what I’m building.
After years of seeing how dramatically the right support can change someone’s life, I created Well Supported Woman, a platform centered around the conversations women are having about success, capacity, independence and support.
The two are deeply connected.
Carver Concierge is the practical side of support. We help people actually remove things from their plates.
Well Supported Woman asks the bigger question: Why are so many accomplished women still measuring their strength by how much they can carry?
Both come back to the same belief I’ve developed after years of doing this work:
Support isn’t indulgent. It’s intelligent.
What makes you happy?
Happiness for me is having enough space in my life to actually enjoy it.
I love travel, reading, yoga, beautiful places, great food and conversations that go somewhere unexpected. I’m happiest around interesting people who make me think, laugh or see something differently.
I also genuinely love creating. Building Carver Concierge, developing Well Supported Woman, bringing the right people into a room and watching an idea become something real gives me an enormous amount of energy.
As I’ve gotten older, my definition of happiness has changed. I’m less interested in a life that looks impressive and much more interested in one that feels good to live.
I want meaningful work, but I also want freedom. I want room for spontaneity, travel, a Wednesday afternoon that belongs to me, a long conversation, a book I can actually finish, or simply the ability to decide what I want to do next.
For me, happiness is having a life I’m actively participating in, rather than one I’m constantly managing.
