Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Rae.
Hi Savannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Savannah Rae is an all-American country singer-songwriter who proudly hails from San Antonio, Texas. Born into a music and arts loving family, Savannah’s own journey to becoming a fast-rising entertainer and songwriter was inspired by a trip to an Evanescence concert in 2009.
Not long after that, at age 11, she was enrolled into vocal and guitar lessons at GRAMMY award winning Michael Morales’ Rockstar Academy. Since then, Savannah has given thousands of performances in intimate venues around the US, all the way to massive shows at the Texas State Fair & Wisconsin Country Fest where she opened for Jason Aldean, to sold out Way Out West Fest opening for Jon Pardi in El Paso, TX. She’s also made appearances on the American Music Awards and on NBC’s The Voice, along with being a brand ambassador for Boot Barn, Country Outfitter, C Force Water by Chuck Norris, Miranda Lambert’s clothing line, Idyllwind, Elixir Strings, Gator Cases, Riser United and Grunt Style.
From singing the National Anthem for the President of the United States, to opening for Chris Janson at Audacy’s Undercover Concert in Florida, to playing 2 sold out nights as the main headliner at the Spooner Rodeo, Savannah is just getting started with big shows, plans and many releases scheduled for 2025.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say some of the biggest struggles along the way were finding my sound and not letting outside influences determine that for me, or sway me towards a certain vibe. It’s hard when you’re a young artist surrounded by “industry veterans” who have a lot of experience under their belts. You always want to trust your elders and trust they have some great intentions for you. While there unfortunately have been some that didnt have my best intentions at heart, there have simply been some people that saw me as a different artist or had different ideas for my career. It’s so incredibly important to stay true to yourself, your vision, and the music you want to create.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a country rock singer from San Antonio, Texas, now living in Nashville, TN. I am most proud of the fact that everything I have achieved in my career, has been done independently. Just a small team of me, my dad, and a few people that really believed in me and the vision. No label backing, no investors, just hard work.
I think what sets me apart from others is my sound. I dont know too many country rock girls in the sphere and I think I bring a new vibe to country music that is really unique. Hard hitting drums, catchy guitar riffs, but still keeping some of that country style of songwriting. It’s really fun and something new for the genre.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck will always have something to do with success. You can be the hardest working person in the room, but sometimes things just happen by chance. You meet somebody randomly, come across someone on social media, and doors get opened that wouldnt have been there before. I’ve had so many opportunities that I simply got lucky on, and inversely many opportunities that got squashed due to bad luck or meeting people that didnt have good intentions for me.
