Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Olson.
Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an artist, songwriter and business owner. I have been building my own music business for my whole life. From releasing my own music (over 60 songs, accumulating over 1.5 million streams across platforms) and building a business around my music, to starting an organization in the faith based music space, called Overflow Worship, where I train worship leaders and their teams, to now acquiring Produce Like A Boss in 2025 where we help musicians, producers and artists produce, protect and profit from their music so it never becomes something they used to do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been smooth, but I honestly think the bumps are where the most growth happens. I have learned throughout life that the best lessons are often the ones you fight the hardest for. The struggle comes, for me at least, when things don’t turn out the way that I originally planned. Right, wrong or otherwise, I like to have predictability, but that is rarely possible as an entrepreneur, especially in the music space.
I have had to pivot more times than I can count, but I’ve learned that’s what it takes. It takes flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to admit when something isn’t working. Failure is just feedback, we adapt, grow and move forward.
I think that’s why I have been able to build so much throughout my life, because I’m willing to be challenged, to grow and make a shift when things aren’t working. But I haven’t always been that way. It’s a learned skill, and I’m grateful that I keep doing what I love.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known as a worship leader and worship leader’s coach and now as the lead coach and inspiration behind Produce Like A Boss. No matter the company, I’m known for helping people get clarity with their goals, their music, business and what’s up next for them.
As an artist, I release faith based music. In addition to writing original music, I love creating arrangements of old songs that inspire people. One of the songs I’m most proud of is an arrangement of “Blessed Assurance” that I released in 2022 in collaboration with McKendree Tucker, an amazing songwriter, composer and orchestrator.
I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to inspire and encourage people on their journey to keep moving forward. It’s what I’ve done and they can see it play out in real time. Whether through music or through coaching, I help people see their way forward.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have been very blessed to be supported by many people in my life. My husband has always been my biggest fan and cheerleader, and I honestly might have quit a long time ago if it weren’t for his encouragement.
My parents have given me endless support as well, and looking back on all of the sacrifices and encouragement they gave me growing up, I’m continually more and more grateful for them.
I have had many mentors throughout my life, and honestly, I think that’s the biggest key to success. Someone who cheers you on, yes, but who challenges you. Pushes you to grow, change, push past boundaries. I had a mentor who was my piano and vocal coach from 7th grade through graduation and then continued to cheer me on through adulthood. His support and challenge was transformational. He has since passed away, but I will never stop being grateful or his influence in my life.
Now, I continually put myself in rooms with people who are farther along than me. Masterminds, business coaches, mentors. I work hard to bring value to them, but they also challenge me everyday, which makes me better.
