Hi Annie , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Vintage Sparrow began from a very simple place—a love for creating beautiful things and a desire to remind women of who they are and the hope they have in God.
What started as a small dream has grown into something I could have never fully imagined. Like most small businesses, the journey hasn’t been a straight line. There have been seasons of incredible growth, seasons of uncertainty, and plenty of moments when I had to choose to keep moving forward even when I couldn’t see what was ahead.
Over the years, The Vintage Sparrow has grown from a small jewelry business into a faith-based lifestyle brand offering jewelry, apparel, and gifts carried by retailers across the country. One of the most surreal parts of the journey has been the opportunity to partner with QVC, where I’ve been blessed to share our products and our story with millions of people.
But for me, the greatest measure of success has never been how many products we sell or how large the business becomes. It’s the stories behind them—the woman who wears a bracelet during a difficult season because she needs the reminder to keep going, the gift someone gives a friend who needs encouragement, or the message from a customer who says a piece arrived at exactly the right time.
My own life has taught me that some of the most meaningful things are built in seasons that don’t look the way we expected. Through motherhood, entrepreneurship, challenges in our family, and the highs and lows of building a business, my faith has remained the foundation underneath it all.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful for what The Vintage Sparrow has become, but I still feel like we’re writing the story. My hope is that as we continue to grow, we never lose what we started with: creating meaningful products that encourage women, point them toward hope, and remind them that their story has purpose.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of what makes the journey so meaningful.
Entrepreneurship has a way of stretching you in every possible direction. There have been seasons of financial uncertainty, doors that closed, ideas that didn’t work, and moments when I questioned whether I had what it took to keep going. I’ve had to learn how to adapt, pivot, and continue showing up even when the next step wasn’t clear.
At the same time, I’ve built this business while walking through real life—motherhood, family challenges, and seasons that required much more of me personally than I ever expected. There have been times when running a business and carrying the responsibilities of life felt almost impossible to balance.
But those seasons have also shaped both me and The Vintage Sparrow. They’ve taught me resilience, gratitude, and the importance of holding success with open hands. My faith has been the constant through all of it. I’ve learned that sometimes the road you wouldn’t have chosen for yourself becomes the very road God uses to grow you.
Looking back, I wouldn’t say the struggles were interruptions to the story—they became part of the story. And I think they’re a big reason The Vintage Sparrow means so much more to me today than simply building a successful business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
The Vintage Sparrow is a faith-based jewelry, apparel, and gift brand centered around creating beautiful, meaningful products that women can connect with. We’re probably best known for our inspirational jewelry—pieces designed around messages of faith, strength, hope, courage, and encouragement.
What has always set The Vintage Sparrow apart is the meaning behind what we create. I don’t want to simply design something because it’s beautiful or on trend. I want there to be a story behind it. Many of our pieces are created around words, Scripture, or messages that speak to the seasons women are actually walking through. I think that emotional connection is a big part of why our customers continue to come back.
Over the years, our products have been carried by retailers across the country, and we’ve had the incredible opportunity to grow our presence on QVC. Seeing something that began as a small dream reach millions of people is something I will never take for granted.
But what I’m most proud of isn’t necessarily a sales number, a retailer, or even a television appearance. It’s that after all these years, the heart of the brand is still intact. When someone tells me they gave one of our pieces to a friend going through a difficult season, or that they wear something we created as a daily reminder of their faith, that means more to me than anything.
I believe what sets us apart is that we aren’t just creating products—we’re creating reminders. Reminders that you are loved, that you are strong, that God is with you, and that even in the hardest seasons, there is still hope. That has always been the heart of The Vintage Sparrow, and it’s what I’m most proud to continue building.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Nashville is the people and the sense of community. There’s such a unique mix here of creativity, entrepreneurship, faith, and Southern hospitality. It’s a city where people dream big, but there’s still a warmth and willingness to support one another that I really appreciate. As a business owner, it’s also incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by so many creative people who are building, creating, and pursuing what they love.
If I had to choose something I like least, it would probably be the growing pains that have come with Nashville’s rapid growth—especially the traffic! It’s amazing to see how much our city has grown and how many people want to call this area home, but I also hope that as Nashville continues to evolve, we never lose the character, kindness, and sense of community that have always made Middle Tennessee so special.
