Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Campbell.
Hi Nikki, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and I attended Winston-Salem State University. Growing up, I was a tomboy, but as I got older and began to develop a strong attraction to boys, I found myself wanting to learn how to embrace my femininity.
That curiosity is actually what led me into the world of cosmetics.
I began learning about makeup and beauty, which eventually led me to become a makeup artist and later move to Nashville, Tennessee. After years of trial and error, learning, growing, and working with MAC Cosmetics, I embarked on a career as a professional makeup artist.
Over the years, my career has taken me around the world, where I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible artists and be part of award shows, red carpets, television, film, photoshoots, and so many unforgettable moments in the entertainment industry.
Through those experiences, I developed a strong understanding of makeup products, what artists need, and what women want from their beauty products. That knowledge ultimately inspired me to create my own makeup line, BluArtistry Cosmetics.
Today, BluArtistry Cosmetics is six years old and continues to grow from my passion for artistry, beauty, and creating products that I truly believe in.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve faced many obstacles along the way. I didn’t come from a background where I was taught how to be a business owner or entrepreneur, so a lot of what I’ve learned has been through experience.
There have been moments when I’ve made financial mistakes or worked with people without having solid contracts and agreements in place. While those experiences weren’t always easy, I’m grateful for the lessons they taught me.
I believe I had to learn some of those lessons on a smaller scale first so that I could be better prepared to operate and grow my business on a much larger scale. Every mistake has helped me become wiser, more intentional, and more prepared for what’s ahead.

What do I do?
I’m a professional makeup artist, entrepreneur, and the founder of BluArtistry Cosmetics. I’ve spent years working in the entertainment industry, traveling, working on award shows, red carpets, television, film, and photoshoots. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned as an artist and turned that experience into my own beauty brand.
What am I known for?
I’m known for my artistry, my ability to create beautiful, polished looks, and my work with celebrity clients. I’m also known for being passionate about helping women feel beautiful and confident. Through BluArtistry Cosmetics, I’m becoming known for creating high-quality products that come from the perspective of a working makeup artist.
What am I proud of?
I’m most proud that I took something I started simply because I wanted to learn how to be more feminine and turned it into a career, a business, and a brand. I’m proud that I built BluArtistry Cosmetics from my own experiences and product knowledge, even though I didn’t come from a background that taught me how to be an entrepreneur. I’ve made mistakes, learned from them, and continued to grow. Most of all, I’m proud that I didn’t let what I didn’t know stop me from becoming the woman and entrepreneur I am today.

One thing I would love to share with readers is how proud I am to have opened my very first storefront for BluArtistry Cosmetics. For me, this represents so much more than having a physical location. It represents years of hard work, learning, perseverance, and believing in a vision that started with me simply wanting to learn more about beauty.
There were many moments when I wasn’t sure how everything would come together, but I kept going in faith. Seeing BluArtistry Cosmetics in a storefront and being able to welcome customers into a space dedicated to my brand is a dream come true.
I’m excited about this next chapter and grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way. I hope my journey encourages other people to start where they are, learn along the way, keep the faith, not be afraid to build something they believe in, and build it on solid ground.
