Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Levine.
Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We got started 8 years ago, in a small 1000 square foot space in Wedgewood Houston. Audrey and I met about 3 years prior to opening Crescent in a salon we both were working in at the time. We became fast friends and I can’t imagine opening a business with anyone else.. Crescent has expanded 2 times, landing us in our current location in Madison.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all! We have (barely) survived a pandemic, 2 tornados, an ice storm and so many other hurdles which left us without power or the ability to generate income. It’s been a wild 8 years, but somehow we always make it through the hard times, and are extra grateful for all the good. We have the best group of stylists and practitioners and are so proud of what we’ve built together.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a curly cutting specialist! I have 15 years experience behind the chair, 8 years as a salon owner and tons of curly education under my belt. I love sharing my knowledge of hair textures and making styling easy for my clients. I also love educating other stylists on how to cut and care for curly hair. It’s so much less intimidating than you might think, you just need to know how to approach it.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Slow mornings. I love waking up on a day off, making my morning coffee and sitting outside with my dog. On a normal work day it’s go go go! Quick walk, quick breakfast, and a rush to get out the door. On weekends, I love moving slow and soaking every drop of morning. Especially in the Fall.
