Meet Angela Thomas-Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Thomas-Smith.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Queen Visionary Angela Thomas Smith is a faith-filled servant leader, visionary, author, speaker, intercessor, publisher, and community builder known as the Queen of Collaborations. She is a woman who believes deeply in the power of prayer, purpose, healing, storytelling, and divine connection. Angela has dedicated her life to helping others rise from broken places, rediscover their voice, birth their books, share their testimonies, build their platforms, and walk boldly in their God-given assignments. Her work is rooted in faith, service, empowerment, and the belief that every person has a story that can inspire, heal, and transform lives.

Angela’s story is one of faith, obedience, resilience, and purpose. She did not begin her journey with everything figured out. She started with a willing heart, a burden to help others, and a desire to be obedient to what God placed inside of her. Like many people, she has walked through seasons of uncertainty, pain, rejection, transition, and stretching. Yet through every season, God continued to remind her that her life had purpose and that her story was not over. Her journey began with one simple but powerful decision: to say yes.

She said yes to prayer, yes to writing, yes to serving, yes to encouraging others, yes to using her voice, yes to helping people tell their stories, and yes to building platforms where others could shine. Over time, that yes became books, collaborations, prayer calls, anthologies, speaking opportunities, ministry assignments, community projects, and divine connections. What began as a passion to encourage and uplift others grew into a movement of purpose. Angela discovered that her assignment was not only to walk in her own calling, but also to help others recognize and activate theirs.

One of the most meaningful parts of Angela’s journey has been helping others become authors and share their testimonies. She believes that stories heal, that writing can break silence, and that when people find the courage to tell the truth about where they have been, they give someone else permission to survive, heal, and hope again. This heart for helping others share their stories is part of what led her to become known as the Queen of Collaborations. For Angela, collaboration is not just about projects; it is about purpose, connection, healing, visibility, and legacy.

Angela’s journey has also been deeply rooted in prayer. For years, she has remained committed to standing on the wall in prayer, especially through the 5AM Servant Leaders Prayerline. Prayer has been her foundation, her strength, and her covering. It has carried her through battles, strengthened her faith, and taught her that when God gives an assignment, He also gives the grace to complete it. Through prayer, Angela has learned to trust God’s timing, follow His leading, and remain faithful even when the full picture is not yet clear.

Where Angela is today did not happen overnight. It came through consistency, sacrifice, faith, obedience, tears, lessons, and perseverance. Every closed door taught her something. Every delay developed her. Every challenge strengthened her. Every connection served a purpose. She got to where she is today by trusting God, staying committed to the assignment, building authentic relationships, serving others, and refusing to give up when things became difficult.

Today, Queen Visionary Angela Thomas Smith stands as a woman who is still growing, still learning, still serving, and still saying yes to God. She is passionate about helping others understand that they are not disqualified by their past, too broken to be used, or too late to begin again. She believes their voice matters, their story matters, their healing matters, and their purpose matters. Her mission is to empower, encourage, collaborate, help others birth purpose, build kingdom connections, and remind people that their story still has value.

Queen Visionary Angela Thomas Smith is a servant first, a visionary by faith, a collaborator by assignment, and a woman determined to help others rise.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with faith, growth, stretching, and many challenges that required me to trust God even when I did not understand the process. There were seasons when I had to keep going while carrying pain, disappointment, rejection, grief, and uncertainty. There were moments when doors closed, support was not always present, and I had to encourage others while still needing encouragement myself. Like many visionaries, I have faced times when the assignment felt bigger than my resources, bigger than my strength, and bigger than what I could see in front of me.

One of the biggest struggles along the way has been learning how to keep showing up even when things were hard behind the scenes. People often see the finished product, the books, the collaborations, the prayer calls, the events, the platforms, and the impact, but they do not always see the sacrifice, the tears, the late nights, the early mornings, the financial stretching, the spiritual warfare, or the personal battles that come with building something from the ground up. There were times when I had to push through fear, self-doubt, and the question of whether I was truly equipped for what God was calling me to do.

I have also had to overcome the challenge of being misunderstood. When you are a visionary, you often see things before others understand them. You have to be willing to move by faith, even when everyone does not see the vision yet. That required me to develop courage, patience, and confidence in God’s voice. I had to learn that validation from people cannot be the foundation of my obedience. If God gave me the assignment, then I had to trust Him to provide, guide, and open the right doors in His timing.

Another challenge has been learning balance. As a servant leader, author, publisher, intercessor, and collaborator, I love helping others, but I had to learn that I cannot pour from an empty place. I had to grow in boundaries, self-care, rest, and healing. I had to understand that choosing myself, protecting my peace, and allowing God to restore me was not selfish; it was necessary for the assignment.

Through every obstacle, prayer has been my anchor. My faith has carried me through seasons when I wanted to quit, when I felt overlooked, when I was tired, and when I did not know what the next step would be. Every challenge became a lesson. Every setback became preparation. Every painful season produced wisdom, compassion, and strength. I can honestly say that the road has not been easy, but it has been purposeful. God used every obstacle to shape me, mature me, and remind me that the assignment was never about perfection — it was about obedience.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Queen Visionary Angela Thomas Smith is an author, poet, podcast host, magazine and podcast network founder, self-publishing coach, life coach, speaker, intercessor, and visionary leader. My work is centered around helping people find their voice, tell their story, heal from what tried to silence them, and step boldly into their God-given purpose. I specialize in helping aspiring authors become published authors, especially those who have powerful testimonies, life lessons, poetry, devotionals, or messages that need to be shared with the world. Through coaching, collaborations, anthologies, podcasting, magazine features, and speaking platforms, I help others move from idea to execution and from fear to faith.

I am known as the Queen of Collaborations because I have a heart for bringing people together and creating opportunities for others to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Collaboration is more than a title for me; it is part of my assignment. I believe we are stronger when we build together, pray together, publish together, and rise together. Whether I am helping someone write their first book, share their testimony on a podcast, appear in a magazine, join an anthology, or launch their own platform, my mission is to remind them that their story matters and their voice has value.

As an author and poet, I use words to inspire, heal, empower, and awaken purpose. Writing has always been a sacred place for me, and I believe words have the power to reach people in their deepest places. As a podcast host and magazine/podcast network visionary, I create platforms where everyday people, leaders, entrepreneurs, authors, survivors, ministers, and creatives can share their journeys and impact others through their truth. I love spotlighting voices that may have once been overlooked and giving them space to shine.

As a self-publishing coach, I guide authors through the process of birthing their books from concept to completion. I help them understand that publishing is not just about putting words on paper; it is about legacy, obedience, healing, and impact. Many people carry books inside of them for years because they do not know where to start or they are afraid their story is not good enough. I help them overcome that fear, organize their message, and take the necessary steps to become published.

As a life coach and speaker, I focus on purpose, healing, mindset, faith, identity, and transformation. I encourage people to stop shrinking, stop hiding, and stop allowing their past to define their future. My message is rooted in faith and resilience. I want people to know that they can rise again, dream again, write again, build again, and live again. No matter what they have been through, God can still use their story for His glory.

What I am most proud of is the lives that have been touched through my obedience. I am proud of every person who found the courage to tell their story, every author who published their first book, every voice that was amplified through my platforms, every collaboration that created impact, and every prayer that helped someone keep going. I am proud that I did not quit when the road became difficult. I am proud that I kept serving, kept building, kept praying, and kept believing in the assignment God gave me.

What sets me apart is my heart. I do not just build platforms for visibility; I build platforms for healing, purpose, and legacy. I care about the person behind the book, the story behind the brand, and the healing behind the testimony. I lead with compassion, faith, authenticity, and a genuine desire to see others win. I know what it feels like to be stretched, overlooked, and challenged, so I make it my mission to create spaces where others feel valued, supported, and empowered.

At the core of everything I do, I am a servant leader. Whether I am writing, coaching, speaking, publishing, hosting, praying, or collaborating, my goal is to help others become who God created them to be. I believe my assignment is to empower people to use their voice, honor their story, walk in purpose, and leave a legacy that will outlive them.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes, my advice for finding a mentor and networking is to be intentional, prayerful, humble, and authentic. Do not just look for people based on titles, popularity, or platforms. Look for people whose fruit, character, values, wisdom, and consistency align with where you are trying to grow. A true mentor should not only inspire you; they should challenge you, guide you, correct you, encourage you, and help you become better. Before asking someone to mentor you, study what they do, support their work, respect their time, and make sure you are truly ready to be teachable.

What has worked well for me is building genuine relationships instead of just collecting contacts. Networking is not just about what someone can do for you; it is about how you can connect, serve, support, and grow together. I have learned to show up in rooms with a servant’s heart, not just a business card. I ask questions, listen, follow up, celebrate others, and look for ways to add value. Some of my greatest opportunities came from authentic connections, collaborations, and simply being consistent in how I showed up.

I also believe prayer has played a major role in my networking journey. I ask God to connect me with the right people, in the right season, for the right purpose. Every connection is not a divine connection, and every open door is not your door. Discernment is important. I have learned not to force relationships or chase rooms that God has not assigned me to. The right connections will bring peace, alignment, growth, accountability, and purpose.

Another thing that has worked for me is being willing to collaborate. Collaboration has opened many doors in my life because I believe we are stronger together. When you support others, share opportunities, promote someone else’s work, and celebrate their wins, you create a culture of honor and trust. Networking becomes powerful when it is rooted in relationship, not competition.

My advice is to be visible, be consistent, and be prepared. Attend events, join groups, participate in conversations, volunteer, invest in coaching or mentorship when needed, and do not be afraid to introduce yourself. But also make sure you have something meaningful to bring to the table. Work on your craft, know your purpose, and be clear about what you do.

Most importantly, be yourself. The right mentor and the right network will not require you to lose who you are. They will help you grow into more of who God created you to be.
