Check Out Arica Eggleston’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arica Eggleston.

Hi Arica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is one of faith, resilience, loss, growth, and learning how to turn my pain into purpose. I have spent many years caring for others, both personally and professionally. Caregiving has always been a part of who I am, and over the years I have gained experience helping people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
I am also an entrepreneur and the founder of World Wide Xtreme, where I have worked to build my own cleaning business and product line. Entrepreneurship taught me determination, but life taught me an even deeper kind of strength.
On September 1, 2022, my life changed when I lost my daughter. Losing a child is a pain that words cannot fully explain. There were times when I was simply surviving, but somewhere in that pain, God began transforming me. Instead of allowing grief to completely destroy me, I began asking God to show me how my life and my experiences could have purpose.
My faith became stronger, and I started making changes within myself. In 2024, I walked away from drinking and smoking and continued growing spiritually. My relationship with God became the foundation of the woman I was becoming.
Out of my own healing journey came an even greater desire to help other women. I founded Ladies of Divines, a sisterhood created to give women a place to be encouraged, supported, loved, and reminded that they can grow through what they have gone through. Our message, “Glow to Grow, Grow to Glow,” represents that transformation.
Today, I am still growing. I am a mother, wife, grandmother, caregiver, entrepreneur, founder, and woman of faith. I don’t tell my story because everything has been easy or because I have all the answers. I tell it because I know what it feels like to experience tremendous pain and still choose to get back up.
I am stepping into a new season of my life where I am no longer just surviving what happened to me. I am allowing God to use it. My journey has taught me that sometimes the very thing you thought would break you becomes part of the purpose that helps you reach someone else.
This one brings your career, business, your daughter’s loss, your relationship with God, your personal transformation, and Ladies of Divines together so the interviewer understands how you became the woman you are today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road has definitely not been a smooth one. I have experienced loss, grief, disappointment, financial struggles, challenges in my marriage and family, and seasons when I questioned who I was and what direction my life was going. The greatest heartbreak of my life was losing my daughter. That loss changed me forever. I had to learn how to continue living while carrying a pain that never completely goes away.
There were seasons when I was surviving instead of truly living. I spent so much of my life being strong for everyone else that I didn’t always take the time to deal with my own hurt. I have had to learn that healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened—it means refusing to allow what happened to keep me from becoming who God is calling me to be.
I have also faced challenges while trying to build businesses, work, care for others, support my family, and still find the strength to work on myself. More recently, a work-related knee injury and surgery forced me to slow down physically and reconsider what the next chapter of my career should look like.
Through every challenge, my faith has become stronger. I’ve learned that sometimes God will use the most painful seasons to redirect you. I am still healing, still learning and still growing, but today I don’t look at my struggles only as things that happened to me. I look at them as experiences God can use through me to encourage another woman who may be wondering whether she can make it through her own difficult season.
My road hasn’t been smooth, but every part of it has contributed to the woman I am becoming.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
For nearly 30 years, my professional life has centered around caregiving and helping others. I have worked as a Direct Support Professional and caregiver, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and assisting with daily living needs. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in medication administration, CPR, dementia care, tracheostomy care, colostomy care, transportation, appointments and other areas of direct care.
My experience goes beyond hands-on caregiving. I have also taken on leadership responsibilities, including training caregivers, staffing, payroll, coordinating schedules and helping make sure clients receive the services and support they need.
What I am most proud of is the compassion I have maintained throughout my career. To me, caregiving has never been just a paycheck. When someone places their loved one in your care, they are trusting you with someone precious to them. I believe people deserve to be treated with dignity, patience, respect and love.
What sets me apart is that I understand caregiving from both sides—the hands-on responsibilities of caring for someone and the leadership required behind the scenes to make sure quality care happens.
Today, I am stepping into a new chapter of my career, using the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years to move further into leadership, client services, referrals and administrative responsibilities. I don’t see it as leaving caregiving behind; I see it as expanding the way I can serve.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memories are the times I spent with my Nana. I remember planting flowers with her, going to church together, and being in the kitchen cooking beside her. At the time, those may have seemed like simple moments, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how much they shaped my life.
My Nana taught me more than how to cook or plant flowers. She taught me about life, faith, strength, and survival. Through her words and the way she lived, I learned how to keep going when life gets difficult and how important it is to have faith along the way.
Today, some of the things I value most—my faith, my love for caring for others, my strength, and my ability to keep moving forward—can be traced back to those moments with my Nana. Those simple childhood memories became lessons that I have carried with me throughout my entire life.
