Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Aid.
Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
One night in 2014 I decided to start a blog as a creative outlet. I later established an Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook Page, Threads, and most recently, a Substack. I have always made a point to share things that spark joy in my own life, and have always made sure to work with companies whose products I already use or would fit in seamlessly to my lifestyle/style.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say that content creation and influencing and is definitely one of those things that ebbs and flows. The social media algorithm is always changing… sometimes in my favor, and other times I feel like I am playing catch up. I have had months where I have gained 100 followers a day and other months where I have gained very little. I would say the most important is to stay consistent, even when you hit a plateau, which can be a bit frustrating.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a lifestyle content creator and influence.
I feel the thing that sets me apart from others is simply making a point to stay authentic to myself. As Judy Garland once said, ” Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else”.
I think I am most proud of firstly, starting, and secondly, the community I have been able to build over the years. I absolutely love interacting with my followers, and I have had so many pinch-me moments over the companies and authors I have been able to work with.
It is so fun sharing movies, outfits, interior inspiration reels, and lifestyle content, and finding your people by sharing things that you either find joy in or are passionate about.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
So many things. I feel like some of the happiest moments are found in the simplest things. I love spending time with my two-year-old niece, family, and friends. It’s like a recharge after a long week.
Autumn, 90s rom-coms, fresh flowers, my dogs, an amazing book, the sight of the ocean, the smell of the city, the perfectly baked cookie, a crisp autumn wind, sunsets, Christmas, and so much more really provide a lot of happiness for me.
