Meet Amanda Scott of Tennessee Wellness Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Scott.

Hi Amanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became interested in healthcare at a young age when both my cousin and aunt were diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching them navigate their treatment and journeys inspired me to pursue a career where I could not only help people through medical challenges, but also provide empathy and compassion during some of life’s most difficult moments. I’ve always believed in bringing a little levity to challenging situations when appropriate, while being a strong advocate for my patients and encouraging them to advocate for themselves. For me, healthcare is about more than treating a medical issue—it’s about listening, building trust, supporting patients and reminding them that they don’t have to navigate their journey alone.

Now, I have over 15 years of nursing experience, including a foundation in Critical Care and five years as Nurse Practitioner.
Originally from Chicago and now a Nashville native for over a decade, I’ve dedicated my advanced practice to Regenerative Medicine, with certifications in Functional Medicine and Hormone Therapy.

When I am not partnering with clients, you’ll find me travelling, running or recharging with my friends and family.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think that’s part of what has made the experience so rewarding. Starting Tennessee Wellness Collective meant learning how to wear a lot of different hats. I’m not only a nurse practitioner caring for patients; I’ve also had to learn the business side—everything from finding the right space and navigating regulations to marketing, scheduling, finances, and simply getting my name out into the community.

One of the biggest challenges has been building something from the ground up while continuing to trust the vision I had for the practice. There are moments when you question yourself, especially when you’re doing something new and taking a risk. But each challenge has taught me something and made me more confident as both a provider and a business owner.

At the end of the day, my goal has always been to create a place where patients feel heard and where we can take the time to look deeper into their health. Keeping that purpose at the center has helped me work through the difficult parts of opening a business, and seeing the practice grow has made those challenges worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Tennessee Wellness Collective ?
For too long, the traditional healthcare system has focused on managing “patients” as a collection of symptoms or a set of standardized codes. We opened our doors at Tennessee Wellness Collective because we knew there was a better way to practice.

If you have ever felt dismissed, rushed, or told that your labs are “normal” while you still don’t feel yourself, you understand why we do what we do. We specialize in a “root cause” approach because we know that true healing only happens when we respect the wisdom of your lived experience. We don’t just look at the data – we look at the human being in front of us.

I’m a nurse practitioner and the owner of Tennessee Wellness Collective which opened in Spring 2026, where my focus is helping patients feel like themselves again. I created the practice because I wanted to provide a more personalized approach to healthcare—one where patients have the time to talk about what they’re experiencing, feel heard, and understand the “why” behind their symptoms.

I specialize in hormone health and optimization, including perimenopause, menopause, low testosterone, and thyroid health. I also work with patients who are struggling with weight and metabolic health, fatigue, brain fog, low energy, sleep changes, and other symptoms that can significantly affect their quality of life.

My services include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, including hormone pellet therapy, medically supported weight loss and metabolic care, thyroid optimization, nutritional and supplement support, and a functional approach to overall wellness.

What I love most about this type of medicine is that it allows me to look at the whole person rather than focusing on just one symptom or lab value. My goal is for patients to feel heard, understand what is happening in their bodies, and have an individualized plan that helps them feel healthier, stronger, and more like themselves.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think both good luck and difficult circumstances have played a role in getting me where I am today, but I’ve learned that what matters most is what you do with the opportunities and challenges you’re given. I’ve been fortunate to have people come into my life who have encouraged me, supported my vision, and helped open doors along the way.

At the same time, not everything has gone according to plan. There have been setbacks, unexpected challenges, and plenty of moments when I’ve had to figure things out as I went. Starting my own practice required me to step outside of my comfort zone and trust myself even when I didn’t have every answer.

I believe some things happen at the right time for a reason, but I also believe you have to be willing to take the opportunity when it presents itself. Opening Tennessee Wellness Collective has been a combination of timing, hard work, perseverance, and taking a chance on something I truly believed in. Looking back, even some of the things that felt like bad luck at the time ultimately helped guide me toward where I am today.
