Check Out Justin McEwen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin McEwen.

Hi Justin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
You can call me Sean Nation. I’ve been doing photography since 2012 and started my freelance photography in May 17th, 2017. When I’m not doing photography or videography (as of last year) I’m a dietary aide at an Assisted living facility been doing that for a year and couple of months. I also do photoshop artwork. I think that kinda helps stand out from the rest of photographers. My favorite photo to take is “Cosplay” that’s when I get really shine and go all out with my creativity. When it comes to my business, the goal is to offer that professional services to everyone at affordable pricing without breaking people’s pockets or feel cheated out of their money and time. My personal goal when comes to my business is to work with small or big business, another photographer and have my own studio.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No haha… No, it’s been more rough times than sun shines. Having people compliment my work but never “follow up on that compliment”, Not having the “right” gear to do certain jobs, never following up with me when they say “I want to hire you for this thing.” countless post of other people doing well while I’m still at home. It was rough for a while until the job I work at Elmcroft of Brentwood the ED and her crew were talking about doing some photoshoots of the residents and staff and I offered my services to her and showed them my work and from there, I brought my camera gear, set up shop and started taking photos. Now I’m their Official vendor when it comes to photography and videos.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When comes photography. My specialty is Cosplay and photoshop. I’ll get some photoshop actions or look up how to do this thing. The way I look at it is like this “Anyone can take photos, rent or buy an editor program, post it up and call it day!” not mad at that but things like this take skills and passion and that’s my goal with every photo I take; Is this one image telling many stories or just one? When I do this edit is this the image everyone will want to know more about? These artworks are they being something new to everyone’s mind?

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
All I can is keep going with what you love and don’t failure as the end all end be all. Even right now as we do this interview, I’m still pushing for my goals.
