Community Highlights: Meet Stu Jones of Medical Housecall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stu Jones.

Hi Stu, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a PA with 30 years of experience in emergency medicine and orthopedic surgery. In 2006, I started my own orthopedic group 7 Springs orthopedics. We sold the company to venture-capital in 2018 and I transitioned out in 2020. In early 2020, I begin to look at what was a real needed service in this area and then Covid hit. Once rapid Covid supplies were available, we started Medical House Calls in September 2020. We are an in-home mobile urgent care. Basically, anything you would go to urgent care for, we can come to you and do it for half the price in the comfort and safety of your own home. What do you need stitches, a boot for a sprained ankle, bloodwork, x-rays, or have a simple ear infection, we can take care of all that in the home. We are looking forward to launching our second regional office in Huntsville, Alabama later in 2021.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obviously, Covid got us busy very fast because we could do in-home Covid testing both the antigen and the PCR test. We definitely had to learn how to get busy fast for my bootstrapped upstart company from the get-go due to Covid. We continue to see less Covid and more Medical House Calls and IV immunity therapy. I would say for a new company, it’s been quite a whirlwind over the last eight months. We definitely have settled in and have hit our stride and look forward to the next cycle for our practice as we become more about true urgent care and IV therapy and less about Covid. We are looking at adding other platforms to our business as well such as men’s health.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Medical Housecall LLC?
We’ve learned through Covid and being in many people’s homes over the last eight months that it’s become very obvious to us that people want to stay at home and get things done at home. We see everything from in-home veterinary treatment, two in home meal delivery, and home sprayed hands, and home pet grooming, and in home weight training. I think if anything we are learning what the “new normal” is and we believe that is people getting what they need when they need it at their timeframe in their home. That’s what makes your Medical House Calls unique. We cater to the patient and we give them quality care for half the price of traditional urgent care.

What are your plans for the future?
We are excited about moving into our second market in late 2021 into Huntsville, Alabama as well as adding other service lines such as men’s health to what we currently do.
