Rising Stars: Meet Breanna Dockins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Dockins.

Hi Breanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My husband and I started Wickidy Wackidy Kids Inflatables in April of 2019. We started Wickidy Wackidy because in March of 2019, we threw our sons Da’Mari & Brayden a big birthday bash. I remember thinking It was SO hard to find a bounce house for a good rate. My husband said to me we should start our own company. I said we can create the most affordable inflatable company in Middle TN! We took all of our savings to purchase two inflatables TWO and a little white van that was basically given to us. We didn’t realize how expensive they could beat the time! We made them super cheap (too cheap) at $95 to at least get customers and show them we had great customer service. I booked the very first one and they were so excited, my husband said the kids jumped up and down as it blew up for the first time. We’ve made mistakes and learned from them. We’ve put so much love into our business that we’ve now grown so much in the past two years. We’re now up to 14 inflatables that include bounce houses, combos, waterslides, slip-n-slides, outdoor movie cinema, and a nerf gun arena. We are continuing to make great relationships with our customers and most of all keeping it affordable.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been all smooth at all. We’ve definitely had hiccups along the way. Our first year, our van broke down forcing us to transport the inflatables in our CAR. It was sooo embarrassing and unprofessional but we didn’t want to let our customers down. Our next bumpy road was our inflatable being stolen from us at a park. That was the most heartbreaking thing to happen thus far. When you work so hard to build your brand and for your things hits like those hit harder. Imagine dropping a bounce house off to be the highlight of their kid party to coming back to nothing. The last challenge was our main attraction (22ft Mega Slide) popping in the middle of a birthday party and being booked so many times after that. We had to drive it all the way to Atlanta just to get it repaired.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a professional career as a claims adjuster. We complete claims for consumers who have benefits with particular credit card companies. I’m proud to say I’ve been promoted on my job four times in the 6.5 years I’ve been working with this company.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My friends are the biggest supporters/cheerleaders a person could ask f0r! No matter what I post, share, or customer looking for my product Suzie, Taija, Essence, Ja’Tiara, Brittany, Camry, Tronisha, and Jalisa are coming through with the tags. Suzie has personally booked my services. Taija gives me the best suggestions in the world and right things to say. Tronisha actually got me workers when I had none. Camry is one of my biggest cheerleaders and even helped me make a promo video. Essence hypes me up on social media like nobody could ever be better! Ja’Tiara and Brittany have both personally referred me to booking clients. Jalisa always gives me advice and offers her help no matter what. It takes a team to make a business successful, my team comes through on the daily for me.
