Meet Annie Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Nguyen.

Hi Annie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always had a love for entertaining and hosting. I especially loved being able to bring people together through food and charcuterie boards were something I gravitated towards whenever there was an event or celebration. If there was a gathering, best believe I would arrive with a board in hand. Charcuterie boards was sort of my way of showing a loved one how much I care about and enjoy their company.

When I graduated from Belmont University in 2019, I honestly have never felt so lost. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and it was months and months of empty job interviews for positions that never really ignited a spark in me or was passionate about.

Starting my own charcuterie business was a dream I held on for a few years but I was absolutely terrified of the thought of it. I was scared of what people might think, I was scared of failing, I was scared of the uncertainty… the list was endless! The world soon turned upside down and I decided to finally take that leap.

I launched in October 2020 (yup, in the middle of a pandemic) and the amount of love and support I have received has been more than I could’ve ever imagined in my wildest dreams.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest struggles with owning a small business is sometimes forgetting to put myself first. In the beginning, I wasn’t able to turn any order down even if I reached my capacity which resulted in me taking more than I could handle. Small business owners wear a lot of hats such as customer service, marketing, admin, inventory, etc. which makes it so easy to experience burnout! I’m constantly reminding myself that it’s okay to say no sometimes and that I can’t be or offer my best self if I’m spread too thin,

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With Love and Brie was created with the love of entertaining and bringing people together. We offer and specialize in custom curated charcuterie boards, boxes, and grazing tables! We strive to create aesthetically pleasing and delicious centerpieces with fresh ingredients that will elevate any gathering. Every single order is thoughtfully handcrafted and curated with also the convenience of being delivered right to your front door.

We also try to be environmentally conscious so all of our boards, cutlery, and packaging are made of entirely compostable or reusable materials! One of my favorite things to add in on my boards and boxes are these mini glass ramekins and I always get messages from customers on how much they love reusing it!

I’m really proud of how much of my heart and soul I put into my business and I believe that’s what also sets me apart. A client could subtly mention what event or celebration the board is for and I will automatically go out of my way to make it as special as I can for them — especially with themes! I truly try my best to put as much love and detail as I can in every single order and I hope my clients can see that too.

How do you define success?
I thought the definition of success growing up meant graduating high school, attending college, finding a career, and making a decent amount of money.

My definition of success is when you fulfilled everything you set out to do in life, being happy with what you are doing, and leading a life of compassion for yourself and others.
