Meet Cameron Leonard of Luxe by Cameron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Leonard.

Hi Cameron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story begins when I arrived here in Nashville, Tennessee in 2012, I actually started out doing a ministry internship, leading and teaching for a house of prayer and worship. When my internship ended, I continued on as a chaplain of a rehabilitation and healing center, and I also leaned into the real estate industry.

After several years of climbing the many rungs of real estate, I landed in Property management of one of the finest luxury high-rise properties in the gulch, downtown Nashville. I decided to retire my real estate career when I was given the push from several of my residents at the high-rise where I managed to pursue my passion in the entrepreneurial world. I moved forward with launching my luxury event planning company in 2016. Planning and creating the perfect atmosphere has always come easy and so natural for me. MY Ideology and concept behind the heartbeat of the company when I first started was to create something that was always elegant, always above the mark of the client’s needs, and using the finest quality of materials and products, all the while pulling on the networks and relationships of so many great local companies that I have grown to make here in our great city of Nashville. As time went on, my company grew bigger than my own hands could handle alone, so I chose to expand and bring on contract help. Of course, as I made so many more connections and great friends in the hospitality and service industry, I naturally began to dream bigger and better. I sat down one day with one of my dearest friends and explained my desires and my dreams based on where my company currently sat. They told me that I needed to completely re-design my business plan and make everything much more concise and simple and to not be afraid to fail and learn as I tweaked it all along the way.

After weeks of figuring out where I wanted to take my company, I realized that it looked like it was time to expand the concept of what I wanted to do and that meant I would be going Far above and beyond just doing luxury events. As I began to solidify the next steps, I came up with the idea that I should have a parent company, and I would call it Luxe by Cameron. And I decided that I would take my years of experience, skillset, and my degrees in so many different fields and put it all in a new company. I would launched a business consulting firm for small to medium size growing businesses, helping them network their company, stabilize their operations and management, throw their company events, and of course social media creativity growth. It was my desire that from this consulting firm, I would not only help businesses achieve their dreams but at the end of the day, I would be helping myself achieve my dreams too. My heart’s desire is to see every person that has an entrepreneurial dream of their own to flourish without having to break their bank while providing them the highest quality of service.

It’s so wild to think that I have been an entrepreneur for years now. It’s just so beautiful to see how far I’ve come and to see what all has been accomplished in such a short time. If it wasn’t for the Lord, my dearest friends in and out of the business world that I constantly nag for advice, the number of yeses that I have agreed to help or assist with free of charge over the years, And the passion to truly change the business industry, (with a model that I believe is crucial to operate in business – for, by, and in the unconditional love of God), I wouldn’t have all that I have been blessed with around me.

Of course, I don’t plan on stopping, to be quite frank I don’t think there will ever be a day in my life where I’m not working. You know that old saying if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life? Well, it rings ever so true when I look at everything that I do and everything that I dream and imagines to do in the future. I don’t feel like I’m working just having the time of my life on and on to the next adventure. My next project is to launch a retail company sourcing local Nashville artist’s designs and creations, which has been in the works for over a year now, thanks to Covid. Haha. It is almost turned out to be more of a blessing, the year of 2020 because that meant it gave me a year to literally sit in a think tank and dream up all the many adventures that I would like to do over the next decade. As I embark upon my 30th birthday this August, I would only hope that my younger self would be so proud of not the accomplishments, the successes, the wins, and the accolades, but the desire and the resolve to have never lost my integrity, to never back down from my hearts dreams, and never being too busy to do what matters most, to help and to assist all those that come into my path.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth, and it has not been easy. A couple of years after arriving to Nashville, business in the real estate world was going great, but I was diagnosed with rare cancer in my abdomen. Thankfully the doctors caught everything right as it was entering to stage one and I was able to get the necessary treatment. Of course, that meant all of my money in savings went right down the drain as it went to my medical treatments, I lost my house I lost my car and I even lost a few friends along that scary journey. My resolve never remained in this world, it always rested and the love of Jesus and that gave me the strength to continue coming on as I knew My time was not up and my story was so far from being over. I also along the years have always struggled with my gender and sexual identity and no matter how flamboyant or not that I displayed, I always chose to be myself. Now some would say that to embrace the many lives that I have lived if you will, would not be excepted in the business world, I say to you not so. I chose to hold myself to a high standard, being a multi-racial Man, I always had my glass ceilings set a little bit higher, which meant I had something to aim for and shatter. Now that I have finally come into knowing who I am, I don’t regret any of the experiences that I’ve gone through that I may chosen to go through and experience or things that I could not have controlled because they’ve made me who I am today. They made this multi-racial, Jesus loving arms open wide for the next adventure man look at any obstacle or tough thing ahead and know that it’s always possible to get through no matter what.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My brand is me. My brand stands for everything that I am as a person: elegant, classy, full of loving-kindness and warmth, & always pushing the limits of what has been known to be done and what could truly be possible. My parent company, luxe by Cameron houses what will soon be a plethora of companies within. Luxe consulting by Cameron specializes in small to medium-size businesses looking to grow and become more and improve from within. My consulting firm offers operations management reconstruction and planning, Human Resources management consulting, Business to business networking, business to client growth, Social media marketing including a platform management and ad & media creation, event planning from corporate to residential, and of course good old fashion think tank conversations with some of the best in their field when it comes to business.

What sets my brand apart from everything else on the market or that may be offered is that we don’t care what others are doing, we care about what matters and what will work for our client. We take the time to listen and to hear the needs and to see the needs that could potentially come forth as the company reveals to us their dream of growth.

As the owner and CEO of this beautiful brainchild of a company that has companies within, I seek to not build an empire of successes and wins but to build trailblazing paths that revolutionize the way we all do business that large which will greatly impact all of our clients in all of our business partners and relationships for now and well into the future.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The qualities and characteristics that I believe that have and continued to attribute to my success is my resolve to remain in Christ, to remain true to myself, to my beliefs, to my morals, to my hearts beat of never settling of the standard level of quality, and to my integrity which cannot be shaken for no price.
